By the Light of the Silvery Moon
Did you see that silvery moon last night? I nearly drove off the road looking at it. I'm blaming this on my newly discovered amateur (very) photographer's eye. Now why do all my neat photos have some danged electrical wires smack dab in the middle of them? At least, they point out the moon path on the water.
Here's one where the moon looked like the sun...
This is my daughter's home, which looks a little scary, but the moon rising over it was delicious.
Recently, Kathy at Lavender, Lace and Thyme tagged me with this wonderful bookworm award. Thank you so much, Kathy!
This is how it works:
* Pass this on to five blogging friends. (Three for me!)
* Open the closest book to you, not your favorite or most intellectual book, but the book closest to you at the moment, to page 56.
* Write out the 5th sentence, as well as two to five sentences following that...
As it so happens, I was writing an email to a blogging friend the evening I read Kathy's blog. Living Successfully With Screwed-Up People by Elizabeth B. Brown came up in my writing; my only problem was that I couldn't remember the author so I ran to get the book and here it has been sitting ever since. I do highly recommend it, too. It's not your average run-of-the-mill, self-help book because there are many helpful suggestions, which I have been able to apply and they've worked...so far. ;>
Being walked on in a relationship is unhealthy for everyone — the one being tread on, the ones watching, and the one walking. You can not have a stable, growing relationship when one of the parties is on the floor licking boots.
I'm going to pick on some newbies to my blog because I would like to know more about them. Please know, ladies, I am never offended if you choose not to participate.
In no particular order...
1. Terri at Lakewood Manor
2. Sue at Thistle Patch Hill
3. Leah at South Breeze Farm
Have a wonderful Thursday...just two weeks to Thanksgiving...wow!

I missed that beautiful moon last night, we had clouds so thank you for sharing it's beauty. Your book sounds awesome, the advice is well received and I will remember it :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thursday Vee,
Kathi :)
My husband always says his workers get a little nutty, make mistakes and generally aren't quite themselves on full moon night. Yesterday when the weatherman announced full moon, my husband's response was "oh, no." I'm going to show him your lovely moon pictures to give him a better feeling about full moon night. :)
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteYou were not the only one who nearly wrecked while gazing at the moon! I came out of the store, (more shopping YUCK!) at dusk as it was just appearing. The sky was still a bit blue and clouds were scuttling across it. The edges of the clouds were tinted in silver and pink, it was stunning. I almost hit a cart pusher! I followed it home and watched it grow larger and brighter. It was a welcome lantern in the fog we had roll in here last night. When my daughter got home she called me outside to gaze at it with her. The fog made it shimmer like a big silver coin. It was indeed glorious! Your photos are wonderful! The spooky on is my favorite. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi Vee!
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the moon are great! I especially love the one at your daughters house. I remember my dad singing that song By The Light Of The Silvery Moon!
Very nice post remembering Veterans Day!
Hugs, Sherry
It certainly was a beautiful moon! I haven't tried any moon shots...need to learn to use my camera and all it's glorious functions!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee! Your moon shots are improving! The orb hung like a silvery ball in the Vermont sky as well. I enjoyed your book meme--I'll have to pick up the book closest to me when I get home. It's a office supply catalog here at work! (shhh..I'm checking in on you when I should be working!) Have a lovely day! ~Kathy
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, I did try to take pictures of this same moon only about 1400 miles south of you if you live in the BC area. I'll have to see if they turned out. It is so true about those darn wires getting in the way :0)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day..
Great moon shots!!
ReplyDeleteDidn't see the moon here in Maryland last night, it was raining!
You do have the photographers eye. The first photo is especially magic. WOW.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you should post that tag event today because just last night i was cleaning and rearranging my little library. I'd been tagged with this once before and thought it was so great. If you don't mind I'm going to consider myself tagged.

ReplyDeleteI'm like you about the electrical wires, that is why the pictures of the raspberry fields across from us are always cropped,
The quote from your book was fascinating, there have been times in my life that it could have certainly applied. NOt to one I live with . . .
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteIt was overcast here last night, so no moon was seen!:-(
It does look so bright in your photos!
Congratulations on the nice award and the tag and the quote from the book you chose was interesting.
