Welcome! It is three-o'clock on a lovely summer afternoon and I'm so glad that you have joined me for our tea-party.
Ladies, may I just say that you've never looked more lovely!
Hopefully, I've got my tea cups all in a row... You know how these short notice tea parties can be.
Please select your favorite and come sit down for a good while...
The garden is particularly delightful today. If you'd prefer sitting on a comfy quilt, you'll find several on the cool grass.
Oh, my dear, we have so many delicious things to eat and drink. (Thank you all for bringing your favorites.) We have butterhorns, summer pudding, plum platz, and *my favorite tea sandwiches* not to mention that there's champagne with strawberries being served somewhere nearby.
Now, tell me, what delicious topics shall we discuss?
Graphics sources include, but are not limited to, the following:
The Feathered Nest
The Graphics Fairy
Vintage Catnip
Country Living
Delightful. Your images are all so beautiful. They look like they could be in Victoria magazine.
ReplyDeleteI would so enjoy selecting that lovely yellow tea cup with the rose, after an "in-person" look at that gorgeous tree of yours, I think we could discuss recipes, teas, gardening, what it's like to live in Maine, and of course ... blogging.
Oh! How lovely!! Can we discuss Quincy Market in Boston? I so love Quincy Market!! Blessings
ReplyDeleteThis was great...I so enjoyed myself and got to feel like a Lady, thanks for the invite and for preparing the tea.
ReplyDeletebeautiful! I love the grouping of the blue toile chairs.....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
Hmmm...shall we speak of friendships that last a lifetime? Of the Goodness of God in our lives?
ReplyDeleteWould it be a meeting of mothers and grandmothers without mention of the children and grands?
Lovely post.
Becky
You make me wish I was there! I like that last teacup. I appreciate the comment you left on my blog. The sewing room will have to wait till I return home from my stint her in Indiana. My daughter has a day of visiting antique and consignment shops. I shall persevere as well as I can....:D
ReplyDeleteDeb
I'm on my way!
ReplyDeleteLet's talk about family, our faith, our gardens, books.....
Beautiful photos Vee, thank you for your invitation to tea!
Deanna
Oh how fun! The teacups are all pretty so any one of them will do for me. What I'd really like is to have a waist as small as those of the lovely ladies in your vintage photo! I don't suppose we can discuss politics can we? Ha. Beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteYour tea was absolutely charming! As for titillating topics, I guess we could discuss that dashing Mr. Darcy who is new to the neighborhood but lets stray away from the state of world affairs, crime and punishment, the national budget, or any of those messy things that are liable to upset our tea cups! Love the whimsy of this post!
Oh how simply lovely!!! Dreamy, even. Delightful and all those delicious terms. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd you even included Champagne, with strawberries floating in it. :-)
Oh for topics! Anything light and airy and able to be blown about, as light as a feather. How is that for a general suggestion?
Mmmmmmm, this is so nice! A place to escape to. Where all is lovely and peaceful and no rancor exists.
Where the sun shines, but never too intensely. Where a breeze blows, but only gently. Where the soft scent of flowers, surrounds one and lulls one to relax. -happy sigh-
Dear One, we should do this more often. Will you please invite us again, some time?
-Perhaps a late Summer Tea?
-And a Welcome To Autumn Tea?
-And especially one, in November,
when the world gets rainy and
gray and we need tea by the
fireside.
-Etc.
-Etc.
-Etc.
Gentle hugs...
This is so lovely Vee. Great idea! Thanks for inviting us. I love the ladies in their pretty dresses and hats. I hope your day is wonderful. It's cloudy with drizzle here and I'm hoping this system will move on so we'll have a good weekend. Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely stunning post you have shared with us today. I think I could be there quite quickly. I'll have some champagne!
Carol
Aug. 3rd...
ReplyDelete10:30am...
-waving hands frantically-
:-)
Now I can't access my Yahoo Mail Box of la.attico. "Oh bother" -grumble, grumble, grumble- Some Yahoo Mail boxes are having "troubles" and la.attico is one of them. Figures. lol.
I so wanted to see your reply to my last backchannel, and now I can't access it. -pout-
I suppose it will clear up eventually. But if not, my old, old, old Yahoo mail addy of followbliss2000 at yahoo dot com seems to be still working well. So if I mail you, from there, please know it's ME. :-)
Gentle hugs...
Certainly we must speak of the oppressive male dominance... and thank you, I'll take the astilbe.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Oh, thank you for the invitation. Yes, I'd love another one of those garden sandwiches. I'm so glad you have the recipe handy.
ReplyDeleteLet's chat about good things - roses and dahlias, zucchini, God's love, and this wonderful world of blogging.
What a lovely post --- of course I'll come for tea! Would you like me to pour?
ReplyDeleteooo, what a delightful tea.
ReplyDeleteI am the sassy one on the right of your photo..
I am in a reclining position on one of the lovely quilts in the cool grass (where the heck is this location that it is "cool(?)
and may I please have another wine with strawberry?..what's that?
You say I've already had 5..?...well, I LOVE even numbers...so bring another, if you please.
O, and ANY or all of the delicious foods will suit me to a tee (no pun intended)...:)))
xoxo bj
ooo, and I forgot to say that you have inspired me to have a little tea, too, so you will be getting your invitation very soon.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I've got covering a stool in mind for today....where's that wine???
I do love tea sandwiches! And al fresco meals and tea parties outside! You know how to live, Vee!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not too late for tea, Vee! I misplaced my corset and my white lace dress would not fasten without tying those corset bones up tight. Then I had trouble with my chignon as my bonnet would not fit over it! Finally I was able to put myself together and grab my parasol so my delicate complexion would not be freckled by the sun in time to meander over to your lovely garden.
ReplyDeleteI'd like a lavender herbal tea if you please, with two lumps, and one of your delicious tea sandwiches and a butterhorn.
Ah....this is the bees knees!
What a lovely tea party! I did so enjoy the time with new acquaintances and, of course, with our gracious hostess. Thank you for your time in creating such lovely atmosphere to host this party AND thank you for giving all of us the gift of a few minutes of daydreaming.
ReplyDeleteMy dear Vee,
ReplyDeleteWell, I just tuned into the teaparty and your comment came across my blog...great minds?
I am SO HAPPY to be here. So happy. Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas were beyond hot...107 and the temp would drop to 103. Poor people, poor plants, poor animals. Farms are suffering.
I am grateful and at peace.
Sending love,
Sharon
My husband's grandmother made the best butterhorns! I wish I could join you for tea. Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, beautiful post Vee. I love it all and the post that you have created is delightful.
ReplyDeleteYou know Vee, I admire you and what you have accomplished just since I have known you. So, I can only imagine what beautiful things you have tucked into the hearts of your family. I hope that you know how beautiful you are, and what a very special person you are.
Thank you for creating such a lovely post. I'll have two lumps in my tea please and a summer pudding sounds delicious.
Karen
Oh, lets chat about the latest garage sale finds...or the best deal on our latest shopping trip! Thank you for all your work...the tea is delightful!
ReplyDeleteI'll use the first tea cup and just a smidge for me. I think that I'll indulge in a bit of the bubbly too!
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the hostess with the mostess:)
Leann
Oh my, how relaxing and lovely. You picked the most pretty of images and just made everyone feel so welcome. Drooling over you menu. Audley calls it chick food, but I call it wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMen just don't get it! =)
Jen
Vee, your pictures, this post and previous posts, are beautiful. (Internet is especially speedy tonight. Yay!) Your flowers are gorgeous and love what you are doing to your house. Since it is 11 PM at your house, the tea party is past. Sorry I "missed" it.

ReplyDeleteWe should talk about something happier than the national debt,LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I swooned when I saw those beautiful dresses. I would love to wear clothes like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tea party!
ReplyDelete(Hope I didn't ruin things when I stumbled over from the champagne and strawberry area! I didn't mean to knock those tea cups over!)
Beautiful pictures! :)
