Really Vee? Sorry to hear that. Being a pioneer woman today is not fun! Did you lose stuff in the fridge and freezer? Did you have flooding? Take care. Blessings, Pam
Being without electricy can present its challenges. We look forward to hearing all about your! I'm with you Vee, roughing it means the Holiday Inn. Hope you didn't suffer any damage.
Oh oh, I was afraid of that. Glad it was only 3 days, that's long enough! More importantly, you're okay. We've been thinking about you and glad to hear from you. Take care!
Glad you all are safe! Roughing it is not for me either! We went a week without electricity about ten years ago in an ice storm that started on Christmas. Our well wouldn't work, toilets wouldn't flush--so we camped out with neighbors with a generator! Spiked eggnog helped a bit! lol
I was thinking of you earlier when we were driving back from Nashville. I am so glad you have power. It's amazing what we take for granted until it's taken away! I hope you all didn't have too much damage to your place. Those winds and high power rains can really do a deed!
Welcome back Vee! so good to hear from you! No power is NO FUN. We're so spoiled aren't we! Looking forward to hearing more - hope you had no damage in your area!
I've never ever not had electricity for longer than a day.......welcome back. Must be terrible dealing with food items and no computer.....goodness gracious!
Isn't it wonderful to get the power back! I am so appreciative of the hard work by the electric company! (we only lost it for 24 hours. we were fortunate)
That has only happened here once and once was enough! It was after a very bad storm and thankfully, it was June so we were able to grill and cook outdoors but no refrigerator or air condition and my daughters had to study for finals by lantern light!
You have been on my mind so much this week. My friend in New Jersey is also out of power, phone and running water. Glad you are finally back up and running.
Sorry you were without power for so long - it's hard. I'm seriously thinking of buying a generator. We were once without power for almost two weeks after an ice storm.
Thanks for the sweet note on my house post. I am sure you would be a totally amazing neighbor and I would be over at your house all the time visiting. Your home and you are always very, very welcoming!!!
Sorry to read you are both dieting. Never diet with a man - they always lose 20 lbs in no time and it takes us a decade to lose that much. I really hate food restrictions but we are living that reality too - lots of veggies and whole grains. It is depressing. I miss my sweets. I lose 3 lbs and then celebrate with chocolate. I will never be one of those starving types. Some amount of restraint is good for health, but I don't believe in all these normal weight people constantly dieting. It tires me...half the women in my office are rail thin and still dieting while I slowly gain. Ugh....
So glad you have power, I have been concerned for you and John and pray all is well!
ReplyDeleteWe are farmers, and not pioneers either.lol
Hugs,
Sue
Been thinking of you Vee!
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful you have your power back!

So glad your power is back on, Vee. I agree, pioneering isn't for me either. Once we were out for 7 days ... horrible.

I even tried to call you, this afternoon. All I got was; "Your call can not be completed" or some such. Figured you had no phone.

Lots and lots of hugs...
So glad to hear from you and know you weren't washed away in a deluge! Loss of power for even a day can be catastophic. Praying!

As I thought! Hope all is well in your corner. I am remembering the ice-storm of 1972...when we were without power for three days. Not fun memories.
ReplyDeleteWell, see when I emailed you and you replied I thought you were fine!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear you were without power, but so glad it is back on now! I know how uncomfortable it can be with out power!
Hugs,
Penny
