The Secret

The secret has been discovered...

What?! Too much?

Awwww, you gals made my day. I knew that you were highly suggestible. I'm including a short list of starry, starry trees so that you may check them out.

Again in comments, Donna gave a link to *this blog* for another take on starry lights. It requires a tripod and intimate knowledge of your camera. I have a tripod, but know less than zip about my camera just now.

Here's that list:

I'm missing somebody...is it you? If so, let me know and I'll add yours. (I know that there's an easier way. My gadget for adding the link backs to a post are no longer working correctly.)

My secret? Well there are some things that a gal just has to keep to herself. I know that you'll be happy about that! (One thing we don't need is to see this replicated across Blogdom.)

An excellent Friday to you...

  3. I think you're wise to keep this secret... Let's just keep it special. Have you seen the little 3-d glasses you can buy that make the lights look like snowmen when you look at the tree... or Christmas lights... or headlights...? Really fun!

  4. You are such a tease! Now I am going to have to see if I can figure your trick out, but that will have to be after I wash the dishes, bake cookies, meet my SIL at the mall and exchange boxes of gifts (he is taking them home, so I don't have to mail them), wrap the grands gifts. Hummm, now what was I going to do?

  5. The stars on your tree are magical! I think you're having lots of fun with your new camera.

Thanks for sharing the other links. I'm trying to figure out how you (they) have time to create such fantastic blogs and still do so many crafts/projects. How about sharing your secret?

  8. Ahem...Don't you think you should share your trick with me at least?

I have a feeling it isn't a "dumb fun" method though. Still, I'd like to know!

  17. I ran and got my new camera to try this and the battery went dead. Guess that's a hint that I should be doing something else. Thanks for the tip though!

  18. Now that is SOME twinkle! I cannot even imagine what you used to make such ginormous rays of light! Fun! :-D

This week has been busy, busy. But I am looking ahead to next week, with fewer things on the calendar, fewer things to do, more time to relax and enjoy. I am even planning a few tea times with friends. Maybe I'll have time to experiment with my own camera (which is not at all new, but I still don't know all that much about it) and see if I can make some twinkles of my own.

  19. Haha, you probably added them in with picnik! You CHEATED! LOL! If you can at least set your camera on aperture mode and then select a high f stop number, you can also get a respectable twinkle without use of a tripod. Hey, you CAN do it! Here's another link from a pro buddy that I follow on twitter.
