Imagery by Kimberly

Dear Daisy Cottage. Do you remember that blog? Kim writes there. About a year ago, she decided to move on from writing about her 1920s bungalow on a regular basis. Oh what a bungalow it is — lots of yellows and reds — charm and cheer. It is a welcoming place. (*A Houzz interview* showing a quick overview of Dear Daisy Cottage.)

At first, I didn't know what to think. Move on? Move on to what? Hmmm, yes, a swan family. A Swan Family? Really, Kim? Are you sure? I mean, swans are beautiful and all, though I would just as soon that we leave things as they've always been. You know?

Well, no, she didn't know because soon she was off and writing — no, not so much writing — sharing. Sharing her heart and her view of life by showing us the story of The Swan Family. (Sometimes a duck family paddles through.) Nearly every day at Imagery by Kimberly, we can see the story unfold via Kim's incredible photography. There have been joyous days, glorious days, and heart-wrenching days.

Now, some of you know that John and I like swans very much. He began collecting them long before I did; now we collect them together.

You may imagine my surprise when, one day last week, I read that Kim had some photos to share if her readers would like one. I looked around real quick and thought is she talking to me?

Yes, she was! Thank you so much, Kim, for the gift of your photography and your blog and your heart...

She is one of the nicest gals I have ever known, and oh such a gifted photographer!

And she still loves those swanlings!

This is a good post, never thought of sharing this.

    You are smart, Vee.

  7. Dear Daisy Cottage was THE first blog I ever looked at, my friend kept nudging me to go visit. I enjoyed many a breakfast, lingering over a second cup of coffee, listening to Stranger on the Shore and There's A Summer Place playing softly in the background. Yes, she is a talented photographer, but I miss the old blog. Unfortunately it kind of slipped off my radar. :( xo

  8. I love Kim....loved her blog Daisy Cottage and her new one is so beautiful. Kim was sweet enough to commission a mosaic birdhouse for Daisy Cottage a few years ago and I had such fun creating it!

  10. I still have Daisy Cottage on my sidebar and drop in occasionally for a visit. Her cheery and cozy kitchen is one of my favorites.
I felt the same as you when things changed, but Imagery is such a beautiful spot. So peaceful and calming. I happened to be reading the day she announced that she had photos to giveaway. Wasn't that a wonderful surprise :).

  11. Oh that is neat. As I was reading I thought of my hubby...he is one of those that connects people together, as soon as you start to talk he will connect you with someone of like interest, etc....you do the same in the blog world. Thanks for always pointing us to other blogs and encouraging the growth of blogland.

  14. I read DC faithfully for years and stop in every so often now. Once when we were down her way we drove around the lake and cute, cute neighborhoods. Suddenly the Gardener stopped the car and said "Isn't that Daisy Cottage?" What a sharp eye. It was fun to see it in person. Knocked on door but Kim wasn't home. I would love to live in that town! And her photography is superb.

  17. Dear Daisy Cottage was the very first blog I followed even before I had a blog! I loved Kimberly's beautiful and colourful cottage and was sad when she closed that part of her life. But I have found her new blog too and check in every once in a while (must do that today!). Her photos are exquisite. Thanks for sharing Kimberly with us. I'm sure she'll find a lot more following her. On another note, isn't this weather gorgeous Vee?? Enjoy the weekend! Hugs.

  20. Very sweet picture. Vee, I noticed that you have Elisabeth Elliot's devotions on your sidebar. Please pray for her husband Lars Gren, as they were in a car accident recently and Lars was hurt pretty badly. Elisabeth seems to be all right, but Lars is her care giver. I don't have too many details, but I know prayers would be appreciated.

  22. What a delightful place Daisy Cottage is! I had never seen it before, but I am sure to return when I have more time to browse. And that swan photo...precious, heart-warming, tender.

  23. Yes, I do miss her and stop in at Daisy Cottage now and then. It's funny reading a comment that I left years ago.

What a wonderful photo! She's always had such a good eye. I've hoped that she would publish a Daisy Cottage book or calendar.
