If you are arriving via Melissa's The Inspired Room, welcome! If you're a regular reader whom I have been teasing with a big reveal since *this post,* I'm so glad that you put up with me and thank you for checking back.
Here are a couple of the before photos so you needn't travel back to the former post unless you'd like. As a brief refresher, this is a jelly cupboard. After some reflection, I realize that I've hesitated to paint it for years because my daughter painted the little picture on the side. I was treating it as a treasure not to be destroyed under any circumstances. Now I see that I can have a picture and the memories and be perfectly okay with it.
Without any further ado or drama or anything even remotely like that, I present to you... Gee, I do hope that you will tell me what color you thought that I might paint it. Only if you really want to, of course. But I would be very curious to know. Course as many of you know, since I talk about it often, my favorite color is yellow...a creamy sort of buttery yellow, but any yellow really is nice. Yes, yellow is my color. Okay, on with it...
Oh, Melissa hinted yesterday that we all might have little secrets to share. I confess that I do and here's mine:
I've been so excited about this party and can't wait to visit all of you to see what you've been up to as well. You may join the party right *here* and I hope that you will. It's going to be fun!
Have a great Thursday!
I love the color you picked...it looks great against the natural wood...and it's so nice to have a "helper" who paints!
ReplyDeleteAnd my favorite color is red! Love it! But.....I am creeping back into my corner to hide...I am STILL procrastinating. I.will.go.and.work.on.my.project....later! Maybe you could send your husband my way, I need a helper, er motivator to get me going.
ReplyDeleteNice color! I like it a lot. And your "helper" is sure handy to have around!
ReplyDeleteSo perfect Vee and John.
ReplyDeleteYou know irecruited my Jonathan to help with mine. My project is not quite done but I guess I will show it as far as it is...sigh.
Things have gotten a bit tricky with my dear Warren's health...a kind of distraction. Or excuse.
I love that red. The photo that shows it against the next room really shows why that color works!
HAve a great day!
He he!!! a great MAN he is!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, this is much better thousand times as the old one. Seems you bought a new one.
Great!
Hooray for you and your courage! To break out of a usual mold!
ReplyDeleteLook at that muscle!!!!!!!!
Well, I totally mis-guessed, about the "looking forward to Thurs." message. -hehhhh- Did I ever.
But, even though I probably missed even the month, 'cause now I remember it was _hot_ on this particular Big Day, well... Consider my wishes, the first of many. :-))))
'Aunt Amelia'
P.S. Did I say Congratulations on breaking out of a color mold? ;-) Yeah, I did. :-))))
I thought that you would do a yellow. Just because you mentioned Daisy Cottage awhile ago. And I immediately think of yellow then red.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love the red you choose. What color is it? It looks fabulous and BTW your handyman sure is a cutie:D
Enjoy your day!
Leann
Color is great but hey, the guy is great too!
ReplyDeleteOf course I love it painted red because red is my favorite color. Looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to guess I would have said blue.
I LOVE IT! I totally thought you were going with robin's egg blue. I adore the red. It even made my heart skip a beat!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the ruffled curtain idea. I can't wait to use it someplace in my house. Well, being the procratinator I am, it may be a while. ~Kathy
That cupboard is awesome! I love red and I think that your cupboard looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI. Love. The. RED!!!! And...the combination of yellow and red (which, I know, you didn't do but you mentioned yellow..)is my favorite "homey" combo - I see you're great at delegation, too. Tell John he not only did a great job, he looks adorable..I'm just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteThe red is absolutely perfect! I really love that you decided to paint your little jelly cupboard. I am willing to bet it looks wonderful in your kitchen and the punch of color adds so much. And your hubby is just the sweetest to lend a hand!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the procrastinators party! We have been so busy with the kids, that I have even begun to put off procrastinating until later. lol

ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my project. I love your project and the red too! Great secret you have there, getting your hubby to do the work for you. What is that you say?...oh, you said he helped...ok...so that means you actually did some of it. However it got done, it looks wonderful against your wall and goes with the colors in the next room too.
ReplyDeleteOh... it is so pretty in red. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee,

ReplyDeleteVee, I love your red cabinet. It's the perfect red. :)
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed my visit here today. I'm borrowing your Award Free Tag. Thanks.
As a gal who has been known to procrastinate on occasion, I can imagine that having your project completed is a wonderful feeling. I'm sure having a happy helper was a great benefit. The jelly cupboard looks fabulous in red. I think you picked a perfect color and it is such a nice contrast against the wood on the wall.
ReplyDeleteJob well done Vee and John!!!
LOL! What a wonderful "secret" to have! I love that color (I'm partial to red as you may know). I looks fantastic against your wall! Good Job!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Love it! It makes a nice contrast to the room. Also, I am partial to red...LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the red. You are a lucky lady getting some help on your project. :)
ReplyDeleteAh! I love it! John did an excellent job and just look at that smile on his face as he was painting...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine painted a cabinet in her kitchen almost the exact shade of red, and it made her kitchen glow with warmth! She also has a pale sage green and buttery yellow as accent colors in her kitchen, and everything ties together so well.
She used Martha Stewart paint from Sears, but I'm not sure if they still carry her brand.
Having a photo of your daughter's past art work on the cabinet is a good memory of what was, and now now you have a whole "brand new" look for future enjoyment!
My middle initial is a "P," and it should stand for "Procasinator" ..lol! Glad you got the job done, Vee!
I love it Vee!!! One of my favorite colors, along with yellow! You know that would look wonderful in my kitchen! ;D
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to have a secret helper with these projects!
