A lower field overlooking the White Mountains to the west.
Just to the right, the farm house.
To the right of that, the road.
And across the street, my chariot awaits.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my Canadian blogging buds! I hope that you are in the midst of wonderful preparations and plans and that many of you have family and friends who will join you at your table to give thanks once again this year. Lovella shared a wonderful heartfelt message right here about giving thanks in challenging times. It blessed me to pieces and I know that it will bless you, too.
It is good you have an obliging chauffeur! I love the photos, and I am sure your gran loved the drive too. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou do tell him how wonderful he is, about 25 times an hour, don't you???!!!??? Yes, you are newly-weds and you probably do.
ReplyDeleteIt's when 'one' has been married for nearly 50 years to another one of those alllllllllllllways obliging fellows, that 'one' has forgotten to say repeated thanks, a whole lot of years ago. Sad but true.
Maybe this is a good time to start in again, hu?
Tell John he really did his good deed for the day, not only for his wife and now extended family. But for some nice guy, a couple of states over. :-)
Gentle hugs,
Miss Mari-Nanci
Your photos are breath taking! You snagged yourself a great guy too! It is STILL very green here. Everyday I go outside to see if I see any change, not yet.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! You take the nicest photographs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sending your best wishes to those of us who are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had the perfect foliage tour...in the right company...with a most obliging chauffeur. What beautiful fall colours!
How nice of John to take you and your gran out on a drive so you could take those beautiful pictures. The fall colors up your way are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnd. . .and Happy Canadian Thanksgiving weekend to you too Vee.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a photo of your Nan. . .all tucked in. . I smiled at the thought that perhaps a booster seat would work. . In Canada our car seat rules are so stringent. . the kids are practically in high school before they can move out of the booster seat. . .pretty funny.
Anyways. . yes, the cranberries are bubbling. . the Yams are baking for the Puff. . and the house is being cleaned. . (okay ..I took a wee break. . it is a holiday). .
How beautiful Vee, stunning in fact, especially the scarlet. I'm sure your Gran so appreciated the drive.
ReplyDeleteThe Silv er Birch picture great too, not forgetting your gorgious grandchild.
Oh! and I don 't think it is the Wheaties!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lifetime of practice.
Good morning, Vee! What a lovely picture you have on your header... I just love the "Welcome" pumpkin/gourd and the teacups hanging from ribbons. Your fall photos are spectacular and it appears you risked life and limb to get them. ;-) Sounds like you are finding ways to enjoy the season even while caring for gran. Happy Thanksgiving ... we were visiting Niagara Falls a few years ago and decided to eat at Table Rock restaurant only to discover that it was Canadian Thanksgiving Day. What a spread they had... it was wonderful to experience the foods and celebration with our neighbors to the north! I would love to visit your area this time of year; our leaves have barely started to turn. Thanks for your comment this morning... it is good to know that though I have been gone, I have not been forgotten.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Christi
Beautiful photos Vee - We're not quite there yet with all the fall color down here in Texas. I'm looking forward to it, tho! Hope you're having a high ole time with your sweet GM! Wish I had mine back, but I think she wouldn't want to come back now after seeing what heaven's like! Have a good next week! Vickie
ReplyDeleteHappy Canadian Thanksgiving to you Vee.....
ReplyDeletewe are sanding and painting and the usual... hahahha...

Gorgeous photos and I love those stacked stone walls! I've always wanted one and one day I'm going to figure out where to put one and do it myself!

Fall is such a beautiful time of the year. Your pictures are so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty there, Vee!
ReplyDeleteGlad Nan was able to take a ride and see all the leaf colors, and that John was such a good chauffeur.
Lovella's post was wonderful --thank for directing us to it!
Hope you celebrated a little Canadian Thanksgiving today!
Hugs, Pat
Oh so lovely photos Vee - thanks for sharing. We don't get those reds our here in Alberta since we don't have any maples here. Boy, do I miss those reds. David and I keep saying we'll do an east coast US vacation some October, just to see the leaves.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Thanksgiving wishes. We will have a big turkey tomorrow with mashed potatoes and stuffing and cranberries and pumpkin pie and apple pie for the people who don't like pumpkin. At least having Thanksgiving in October means there isn't any snow yet and we can go out for a leafy walk or two.
Must run. Love to you, xo Terri
Your photos are Gorgeous Vee...I miss those New England Fall colors!!
ReplyDeleteAs I drove north yesterday I wish I had a chauffeur so I could stop in the middle of the highway to take pictures! The two of you make me smile, precious love! beautiful pictures!

Thank you, everyone. It is wonderful to have a man in my life who likes to dote on me.
ReplyDeleteI don't tell him enough, Miss M-N, but I'll start ramping it up. BTW, I hope that you and your beloved enjoyed a wonderful 50th anniversary! (And another thing, after reading your blog this morning, I hope that you don't isolate. As you know, that's not good for you. ;>)
LOVE the stone fence! Beautiful...I don't have real fall where I live. :)
