It's Not Number One Observatory Circle

President Abraham Lincoln had a vice-president who hailed from Maine. This is his home. I don't believe that that's his vehicle. Ha!

(As you can see, I've been playing with settings. Which do you prefer?)

It was beautiful there yesterday afternoon. I hope to take my grandmother on a drive there soon; she'll enjoy getting out to see the beautiful colors.

Thank you all for your kind comments yesterday. We'll have ourselves as good a time as we can without wearing my poor nan out. You all have a wonderful week as well. I'll be sneaking in to visit you as I am able. As for my blog, I'll have a picture here and there to post.

  1. I'm sure it is a treat for your grandmother to have you back again. You always plan such nice things to do.

I like the framing branches in the first picture but I like seeing the house too as in the second. Isn't it great to have a digital camera so we can experiment as much as we like!

  2. I'd love to have that drive in the fall colours in your neck of the woods. . .I'd sit in the back with Grandma. . . smile.

  3. Soon my Nana will be here for a visit. Two weeks at my house. I love her but it's always challenging. I know that your Nan loves to see you--especially since you do such fun stuff! Thank you, Vee, for being so faithful. Every old person needs someone like you!

I'll join you on your next leaf-tour as well...sit in the back with Lovella. What fun!

  6. Isn't it strange how we usually don't rememeber vice presidents yet so much fuss is made over choosing them at election time?

    I like composition # 2 -- a pretty New England house!
It's nice your grandmother will enjoy a car ride fall leaf exhibition with you!

    Hugs, Pat

  9. Our founding fathers...I can never get enough history! Perhaps one day I will make it to Maine, but please know I am happy to see it through your eyes, what ever picture you can share Vee :D.

    Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

  10. I like how the first picture is framed by the trees, but I like the house better in the second picture. Both pictures are pretty. I'm sure your Grandmother will love to go out for a ride.
    Enjoy your day!

  11. HI Vee!Love the pics of your GRANDBABY AND THE PUNKINS! Very very cute.

Thanks for the comment..although I don't think my DH will agree that I resemble Greta Garbo!! LOL

  12. Thanks for the feedback, Alice, Miss Sandy, Judy, Pat, Linds, and Happyone. You're comments make me think! Now I want to try something else. Isn't that always the way? (Yes, Alice, it is great fun to have digital cameras!)

Oh no, Lovella (Judy too), you'll be sitting in the backseat with me. Nan MUST HAVE the front seat. Thus it has ever been. She does not care how many marriages she breaks up. LOL!

Kathy, I think it's great that your grandmother is coming to you! If I had a downstairs bedroom, I think that I would insist upon my grandmother coming to me, too. Gosh it would be so much easier all the way around. I know that you'll have wonderful things planned for your grandmother as well and you're going to have fun together despite the challenges.

Thank you, Mary Isabella and Kiley, too!

Robin, now you have me wondering why Greta Garbo? (I still say that there's a resemblance.)

  15. Hello Vee - you live in the absolute prettiest part of the world at this time of year. Boy do I miss the east coast in autumn! Both are great pics.

Hope you are well - I have so much catching up to do!
