Winners!

Now what? You never know what I'm going to have that man up to next. Poor guy was up and down the ladder so many times getting that hornet nest in just the right spot.

He even had to take a nap.

(Oh yes! We made sure that nobody was home.)

He had just enough energy to play "The Hand." :D

Congratulations to Joy of Books and Life and to CurtissAnn who doesn't yet have a blog. Ladies, please get in touch via my email addy located in my profile with all pertinent information and I'll send your sweet smelling prizes right along. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Oh, thought you'd like to see where that nest landed in the end...

  1. Good Morning Vee and congratulations Joy and Curtis Ann!

Vee, I loved your post yesterday! :)

Your cupboards are beautiful, your woodwork in your home is stunning, the nest is perfectly placed and John makes me laugh! You are always catching him while he is resting :).

Have a wonderful day, your home is so warm and inviting.

    Hugs,
    Kathi :)

  2. How wonderful to have a man who understands "just right." I think your hornet nest looks great. I wonder why the hornets left it empty.

  5. It is just as well you have the man on hand, Vee! I assume you were nobly holding the ladder steady in a helpful way while taking the photos - I can just hear the conversation! But it looks great!
    Congrats to the winners!

  9. O, I love, love, LOVE the wood beams and the wood ceilings. That's unheard of around here - I've never seen that in a home. The vignette is perfect, you've brought nature indoors and it looks so inviting.

  10. Tell John he got it just right! The wasp nest is just perfect up there...and very far away from my place (which is a good thing!). We have been battling with wasps ever since we built here...and are constantly removing wasp nests from the far reaches, so I wouldn't really want a reminder indoors.

  12. What a great man to oblige you on the decorating ups and downs! I love the way your cabinet (header pic) turned out. Lucky Joy and CurtissAnn!!

Yes, I am hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year... both my parents and hubby's. My brother may also come, although having had his wisdom teeth out last Friday he may decide it's not worth it.

  15. Hi, Vee,
I came across your blog from Raindrops & Rainbows. What a treat visiting your blog! We have much in common: to name 2, a helpful hubby, & a hornet's nest hanging in the house. (Well, we finally took ours out, but had found a HUGE one under the porch, which we sprayed, dryed out, then hung high in the hallway). Stop by & visit my quirky blog anytime.
    Blessings, Susan

  17. Hi Vee
Congratulations to your give away winners!

The hornet nest is pretty -- and it looks nice as part of the arrangement in your ceiling niche. Good work, John!

Thanks for your BD wishes to my daughter!

  20. Vee, it's looking great. I love the Hornet's next, but you really need to give Big Bad John a little more nap time, lol...I broke down and did a little decorating today. A very little, but I'm on the way!

  21. Hey I really like that shelf thingie up there. Don't know as I've seen one of those before. I do love the woodwork in your house, too, Vee. It's really different from anything I've seen down here in Texas. Very unique. Plus, you don't have to paint!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours! Vickie
