For the past several weeks since the time change, we have been able to see something that intrigues us on every good weather morning when the sun hits the telephone pole on the lower road. Look at the following pictures and it'll become clear to you as well.
Truly, it's been quite an image to see a white cross of sorts floating in the sea of brown and gray branches. We won't be able to see it much longer when the forest greens up, but it has given me the opportunity for much reflection.
The word from Our Daily Bread this morning sums it up better than I could...
It is a simple thing to say that Christ died for the sins of the world. It is quite another thing to say that Christ died for my sins...
Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! Rev 5:11–12
God bless your Good Friday!
One more thing, if you haven't had the opportunity to visit Sandi at Holding Patterns or Kari at Just Livin' Large, perhaps you'll check in today. You may know that Sandi is Kari's aunt. Doesn't it seem that things seem to hit families all at once? Anyway, you'll find both blogs in my sidebar under featured blogs.
Good Morning Vee,
ReplyDeleteWonderful post on this Good Friday!! It always amazes me how God finds these little ways to remind us of his sovereignty and love for us.Thank you for sharing.
Happy Resurrection Sunday.
Sue
I will certainly check out these two ladies blogs.
Isn't it wonderful how God provides little reminders if only we pay attention? Blessed Good Friday to you as well!
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteI also posted about Good Friday over on my blog...It has always been a special day to me. Thank you for sharing the view out your window with us. What a gentle reminder of what He did for us.
I am going to read Sandi and Kari's blogs...
Have a BLESSED Easter weekend, Vee.
Great view out of your window!! Nice how God gives us those special little reminders for us to find.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post ans I am so sorry for the loss of that lovely young woman's beau. She sounds like an incredible young woman and hopefully, she'll feel his arms about her forever. The angels will need to get her through this and be ready to back her up when she's feeling sad.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week-end and thank you for showing such thoughtfulness to all..
What a lovely reminder without a word spoken. Blessings to you as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
ReplyDeleteAbounding joy and rejoicing to you this favorite of times, as you remember our blessed hope!
ReplyDeleteI hope you really go have a good Friday!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that beautiful? It gives me goosebumps.
ReplyDeleteOnce the leaves come back on the trees, I won't be able to see the barn across the county road. It always makes me smile as it is a red building with a "shabby chic" weathered roof.
I'll take the full forest, though. :)
What a beautiful sight...God is good and full of surprises.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the deep loss and illness in the lives of your friends. My prayers are with both families.
Fondly, Carrie
God delights in His children and gives us special gifts sometimes...
ReplyDeleteLove the cross.
How observant you are to notice it.
I was here this morning and then took a tangent off to your friends links. How sad...what a loss.
It's nice to see a cross in unexpected places as a reminder of Our Lord and His love.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to read the two blogs and see Sandi's illness and Kari's loss of her son-in-law. I'll be saying prayers for all the families during the Easter vigil. Thansk for letting us know, Vee!
How special to have your own little Easter message! Wishing you and John a most blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee, that is indeed an amazing sight, thank you for sharing it. I hope you and your family have a happy and holy Easter. hugs Margie.
ReplyDeleteOh my, how neat! It's amazing how it stands out the way it does.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the quote about Jesus dying for *my* sins. I so don't deserve it and that's the beauty of His gift. Thanks for blessing my heart with this post today, and very best wishes for a wonderful Easter celebration! :)
How lovely...... a cross among the branches..... HE is indeed worthy........ worthy is the LAMB....
