It All Went By in a Blur

And you thought that I was kidding!

No, Mother's Day really took off with bang once my son and the grands arrived. They were very busy grands. One is terribly interested in photography...

The other terribly interested in flower arranging...

Yes! That's my beautiful bouquet, which I discussed on Saturday and which you can see in better times in my footer.

Sorry that I didn't take photos of the gift I made for my mother. As it happened, I did no sewing because the ink in my printer ran out. Specifically, the yellow ran dry. (Go ahead! Try and figure that connection. I dare ya! =D ) I was able to finish a journal and another small project. Then I wrapped them in vintage linen...a table runner and a doily...and called it done. Only I (and now all of you) know that I didn't do all that had been intended.

I received petunias from my son and daughter-in-law, pansies
from my beloved, and a fuschia from my daughter. I also have a very nice gift certificate to Olive Garden. (Don't read that last bit, Pat.)

So much to share this week and I'm really excited about Thursday. Have a happy Monday, everyone!

  10. Hi Vee. Love the bouquet. It has "grandson" written all over it! I spend the day as daughter and not mother. The girls called though so that was nice. I'm not sure how sewing has anything to do with your printer but what happens in your sewing room....stays in your sewing room? Have a great day! ~Kathy

  11. We learn to appreciate all kinds of art when the grands come over...and your flower arrangement fits into a category all it's own. Too funny!

I think I've connected the dots...fromt the printer...to the sewing machine...to your mom.

    Have a wonderful week...especailly Thursday. (what's up?)

  13. Oh I love your blurry Mother's Day! You are always good for a grin. I didn't even try to capture my wound up wild boy last night, but he too was in rare form and we laughed until our sides hurt at the new "game" he invented. Lets just say that I saw the gleam of power in his blue eyes at being able to command five adults to do his bidding all at the expense of his being amused.

I received two very much coveted gardenia bushes, I only hope they survive my care!

Have a wonderful week Vee, and John & Nana too!

  14. ACK! Olive Garden ...red alert...red alert...lol

It sounds like a wonderful day all around, Vee. Little boys are a wonderful bundle of energy aren't they?

PS: The haiku festival was good mental exercise and I liked how it kept my mind off the fact that I was flying alone. My seat mate was a gumpy older man who refised to turn off his cell phone and told me to "mind my own business" when I told him he shouldn't be trying to make a call mid flight....sigh.

  15. I'd love to see what they could do if they had and ENERGY! Hahahaa! Have a great day and hug those grands even tighter!

  17. Looks like Mother's Day was a cyclone! Two little cute cyclones to be exact! Looks like a fun day was had by all!

Your azalea is beautiful, Vee. You should come to Tyler during our Azalea Trails - it's breathtakingly beautiful as you stroll through the Old Tyler homes with private gardens filled with hundreds of azaleas, daffodils, wisteria & dogwood. Your fuschia azalea rivals any that I've seen!
(I like the way your grands arranged it - much more artistic!)

  18. Sounds like a fun time at your house! Flowers are a wonderful gift, now you will have to get busy and start planting this week!
By the way, I plan to make sauce, pies and muffins with all my rhubarb, and yes the Mennonite Girls site is wonderful with all their recipes! :)

  20. LOL That is so funny. I should have thought to take some pictures over here. Hubby and I tripped over our pirate ship this morning when we went into the living room to have coffee. We forgot it was there. It's put away in it's safe little place now until next time :>) It sounds like you had a fun day ♥
