A Haven for Vee

Tuesday Troubles

I missed Mary's Mosaic Monday yesterday, but I finally learned how to do a very simple mosaic using Flickr and Big Huge Labs. You can find all that information right at Mary's as she's been so good to share. Perhaps by next week, I'll have taken another babystep. ( *Here* is one of the loveliest mosics I've seen lately.)

Has all of Blogdom gone a bit whacked or does it just feel that way? Everywhere I go visiting blogs I am having trouble. I'm not the only one. One suggests that it's a problem with the followers gadget, another that it is a problem with counters, another that it happens when a blog has too many graphics. I don't know. This I do know: things like this get my knickers in a knot. I know what you're saying out there... "Vee, just chill." ;D

And I really do have bigger things on my plate. My grandmother was supposed to have moved in with us on Saturday except that she has been in the hospital since Friday and it doesn't look as if she'll be ready to come home for a few more days. I told her last evening that she could officially now consider herself in a race with my mother, who'll be in the hospital soon, to see which of them arrives home first. It's going to be interesting to see which hospital I land at on any given day. (They're forty miles from each other.)

So, once again, if you don't see me around, you'll know where I am. Take care now and have a wonderful Tuesday...

  1. Oh Vee...

You can know that I am praying for you and your dear Mother and Grandmother.

I haven't had any issues with opening blogs for a couple of days.

    Maybe....it is about fixed.

  5. Dear Vee. prayers and thoughts are with you. You are in the sandwich, if you understand that term. Children, you, parents. You are a WOW, a pin for you. Just stop by my blog and know it is for you. I don't know how to fix it for you to pick it up.

  9. Everyone else will commiserate about your grandmother issues. I will zero in on the TROUBLESOME BLOGS!

No Vee, don't let anyone say "Just chill." I myself am sick and tired of those blogs which take _forever_ to load. And in which, it takes forever to leave a comment. And I am going to take a stand.

On occasion, I've e-mailed the blog owner and said of the loading troubles. Sometimes they try to cut back on all their *STUFF* and sometimes they just go back to re-adding *STUFF.*

OK, that's their choice. Our own blog is our own choice.

But you have lowered my tolerance level. I'm going to blog that I will no longer try to visit/comment in such long loading blogs.

Sure, I'll sound grumpy and old and like I'm trying to p_ _ _ someone off. But I'm just plain tired of trying to deal with them.

I have lots and lots of beeeeeeeeutiful blogs, which I want to follow. And simply not enough time, to waste on the long loading ones.

    Tra la.

Now, if ONLY some other bloggers, would join me in my decision. And! Be _brave_ enough to say so!!!!! Maybe that way, the long loading bloggers would realize that it's their loss.

Thank you Dear One! I know you'll worry, that you set me off on this track. But don't you dare worry! You also know I am very used to finding my own tracks, to go off on. -giggles- And this one will eliminate lots and lots of high blood pressure making blog reading time, for 'ol' me. A very good thing, as Martha would say!

    Gentle hugs,
    Aunt Amelia

  11. I had lots of problems with people leaving me comments when I had Followers on my blog. So, I removed it. I too have been having trouble opening up my daily reads.

I am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I will say a prayer that she is home soon. Visiting the hospital is very tiring, visiting two that many miles apart is so difficult.

  12. Ta Daaaaaah! I couldn't open up Kathy's Cottage this morning, I kept getting weird error messages. So I opened up my google reader and was able to open up everything including Kathy's Cottage.

Google reader was first introduced to me by my blogging friend Tara. If you don't already have it, just google GOOGLE READER. You sign up, add your favorite reads and when you sign in you can quickly browse each blog.

  16. Praying for you --- your mom --- and your grandmom. The hospital routine can become exhausting (been there with my mom --- far from home at the specialty hospital). But --- rest assured that there are sweet moments in those experiences. Even times like these are times when memories and special moments of relationship are formed. I will be praying for you. Hang in there!

  17. Thank you for your comment in my blog, about this blog loading issue. And I went and saw the issue you were talking about. Though that has not happened to me.

Anyway, since we're on the subject, may I tell you something? Yours is a bit on the 'poky' side of loading. And when scrolling back to find your post, to which you directed me, I realized... you have 7 posts trying to load, every time, on here.

Have you ever considered making your setting, so that a lesser number have to load, each time?

You and I both post lots of pics, and when people do that, it's best if we only have 1 or 2 posts, trying to load, each time.

At the end of our posts -- there's an easy way for readers, to click to Newer Posts and to Older Posts, so no one has to miss anything on our blog.

    Just a thought...

    Aunt Amelia
P.S. I can do this, because I know you'll have no trouble in telling me to "go buss off," if you so desire. ,-))))

  23. Oh Vee, I hate to hear about your grandmother AND your mother. Wow, you'll be meeting yourself coming and going. Try not to stress... I hope they'll both be home very soon!

I'm having trouble with blogger, too. It was okay for a day or two at the end of last week, but this morning I gave up and got off the computer. I don't know what it is.
In Texas, we say "gits my panties in a wad." Same thing ;^)

  24. Hi Vee,
Yes, I too have had some problems when I have visited other blogs, but not being "techie" I am not sure what the problem is!
Keeping you & your family in my prayers!

  25. Catherine said {in my comments} that she thinks she can solve your blog problem. But that you aren't accepting any more comments... ???

Well, if you're not, please go over to my last post, and find her comment, concerning how she took care of that blog problem, you said you are having. She is the Dear Lady at 'A Thousand Clapping Hands' blog. And it is her second comment in my blog today.

If comments disappear, please don't fret. A simple "hi" will do. The platform surely needs some maintenance.
