~Vintage♥Valentines~
♥Source♥
Such a great resource for vintage kids' Valentine cards. They take me back...way back and are, in my opinion, far more charming than the Valentines of today.
(Oh, and for those who may not know and wish to...Alt and 3 equal a heart symbol.)
(Edited to add: Mac users? & hearts ; is the formula minus the spaces. Oh, and would a Mac user please let me know if that works? One more thing, Mac users have an options key instead of an alt key???)
As you can tell, it's been all about playing in here with color and what-not. My sincere apologies for not having a real post, but it's been great fun to goof around.
Enjoy this first February day of 2010...
(And it's true, you know: You do suit me to a tea!)

Such a fun and colorful blog template - I like it! =)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, and Happy February!
Vintage Valentines are the absolute best! I love finding them at antique stores or flea markets. They seem more fun and less comercial than the ones I find for my kids, which makes them more meaningful.
ReplyDeleteHope your Monday is off to a good start!
Jennifer
I couldn't remember how to make the hearts. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteFun vintage valentine.
Have a happy day Vee.

What a beautiful way for me to start my walk here in blogland. You always cheer me up. I love the valentine, and you are so right it is much better than what I see today. Hope you are doing well. Thank you so much for your well wishes and prayers. I must be better as I am out and about in this wonderful neighborhood of blogland today, and started my walk by your home first.

Cute Vee! I love old Valentines. I think I have a couple. I was gonna dig em out to show you all sometime before the 14th! Now you've got me anxious to find them.
ReplyDeleteI like your new blog look! Looks very Valentine-ish!
Have a wonderful day to you and yours!
Play is necessary!!!
ReplyDeleteAlt & 3 = a heart. Nope, not on a Mac. -le sigh- I think I remember that on a Mac, you have to play in that number pad, to the right of the regular keyboard. And have to do it all, with numbers.
Used to have a guide to so doing.
Have to do a Search for such a guide, again.
I leave you with.... The immortal words.... PLAY rocks!!! ,-)
You have found fun and colorful ways to usher in a new month. Your new blog look is perfect. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the vintage Valentine you have shown in this post. Thanks so much for sharing the source.

ReplyDeletevalentine's. thank you for the source.
thank you, too, for all your encouragement
re: my blog. someday, i will share a funny
story about that...by email, i guess.
It was worth popping over to the gorgeous New England just to learn that Alt and 3 make a heart. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI saw your new blog appearance on Sunday and thought it looked so sweet and cheerful, Vee.
ReplyDeleteI wish I saved the Valentine cards from my youth ..they were so adorable. Even the ones I bought from Current catalog for my children to distribute in class years ago had sweet illustrations.
Thanks for the link!
♥ ... It worked for me! Thanks!
Back again! ,-)))
ReplyDeleteStill can't figure out how to "make" Hearts, on my Mac. Not even by Searching. But I can always 'Copy & Paste'! So I'm not complaining, too much. .♥.♥.♥.
But I'm not sure which sig. line I prefer. With 3 Hearts or with 6. So I'll leave you with BOTH! :-)
Happy February!

ReplyDeleteI love the old Valentine's too.
ReplyDeleteThe alt 3 on my mac gives me this £.
Hmmm...alt and 3 aren't co-operating under comments. I was just planning on give you a hearty thanks for the tip...since I'm sure the hearts will come in handy this month.
ReplyDeleteVintage valentine's are definitely more charming!
Hope it has warmed up a little! Love the older Valentine cards. Your blog looks great, too!
ReplyDeleteI love your new look, sweet, sweet, sweet! And I've always wondered how folks make that heart symbol, thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteIt seems I'm always whining about something. -blush- Nice to find I'm not the only one, having an issue, once in awhile. :-)
