Rest and Refreshing

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God... Hebrews 4:9

As we drove through the Green Mountain National Forest on July 9, I snapped photos sometimes as fast as I could. Later, when I uploaded them, I discovered that I had taken a photo of a waterfall I had only barely even seen.

Sometimes life is this way. There is a place of refreshing and rest, but we pass it by hardly seeing. Today, I hope that we all find the time to reflect, to pray, to listen for God's voice. It'll be refreshing!

ETA: I added Alan Jackson's version of "In the Garden" to my playlist, if you'd like to listen.

  3. I love waterfalls.

That is another reason why I like to walk each morning. I see so many wonders that God as given us that I would have never seen but for that walk.

  4. That's happened to me many times. A lot of the photos on my photoblog site are "drive-bys". I'm always amazed at the hidden treasures I find when I upload the photos.

BTW, isn't that your "hit list"?

  9. So beautiful Vee. I know what you are saying. Many times (especially when photographing an event) I miss the forest for the trees. I love waterfalls...not huge ones but the mountain ones. They are so awesome to see and to hear. They lull me into calm. I love photography but many times what Im busy downloading in the camera I miss downloading in my soul. Im working hard to slow down and smell the roses....see the waterfalls. Awesome photo.

  10. Ah the Sabbath, what a wonderful reminder Vee :). The waterfall is pretty amazing, it looks like you were in a moving vehicle, I would have made George pull over. :)

    Happy Sonday!

  12. I love the picture of the waterfalls. Aren't cameras wonderful things? They can help us remember things that slip away from our mind. We all have so much information going on that saving it all is impossible. You seem to always find so much beauty. I hope you have a great week.

  13. Oh I love coming home and looking at my pictures. I almost want to do this first which is so funny since I've just seen where I've been. I've had a surprise or two on my camera too. What fun.

  14. What a pretty picture. So neat that you snapped it as you went passed. I think it would make a nice framed print to have as a keepsake.
