This week found me making crafts. I see so many delights in Blogdom that I must give them a whirl. 1. An open Christmas songbook decorated with ribbon and berries given to me by my friend Kathy. I have used it every year since. 2. A snowflake first found last week at *Quill Cottage*. Miss Sandy will reveal where she found the information. It's really big! It's growing on me. (I had to add some glitter and I didn't have sheet music that I wished to spare...ink is out of printer... so used an old book from the flea market free pile instead.) 3. A Christmas card snowflake. Look back on my posts this week to find instructions if you are interested. 4. A dove and a believe sign 5. Frosty the Pumpkin or Sam the Pumpkin, whichever you prefer. (My grandson renamed him.) Glitter helped his cap look like newly glistening snow. 6. An apothecary filled with antique ornaments that are so fragile I no longer hang them on the tree. 7. A cozy nook in the dining room 8. My Home Interiors Nativity purchased in the early 80s. 9. My attempt to try a mosaic a different way thanks to *Lorrie's tutorial.* (I used a background made available at Diane Knott's Musings somewhere! Sorry that I can't find it. ETA 8/8/13: Equally sorry that there is no Diane Knott Musings any longer. I sure do miss those who have bowed out of blogging.)
Thank you to Mary at Little Red House for allowing me the opportunity to participate. We are all so busy, but the Christmas season is such a fun time to share!
Vee, it looks like you've been having a great time with scissors and glue and GLITTER! Your mosaic looks great. And I never thought of using a collage as one of the pictures in a collage. Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. I've been busy this week and will have to go back and check out all your posts.
I love mosaics and you've really put together some beautiful ones this week! Love your festive things...especially that pumpkin! ♥
ReplyDeleteMy computer has been giving me fits this weekend but Warren gave it some TLC and it is better now.
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is beautiful!
Great decorations...gives me inspiration to go and rescue my white pumpkin and give him a new "snowman" face!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful projects you have completed this week! I'm so envious....I've had not time to try some of the really wonderful things everyone has been showing in blogland. Great job and lovely mosaic.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy. Fun mosaic...

ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic, Vee!
ReplyDeleteI see Frosty the Pumpkin ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea for a mosaic, Vee!
Vee,thanks for stopping by to see my mosaic. I used a combination of programs to create it- Picasa and Picnik. I only learned to create them fairly recently so they are still fun to me. I'm still looking for another program that will give me a few more options. Yours is very nice, as well. It all looks so fun and holiday festive. What a cutie-pie pumpkin snowman!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Looks like you are all decorated for Christmas!?
ReplyDeleteI'm normally not much of a crafter, but after seeing your mosaic I may have to re-think that. They all look so festive and pretty together. Love the pumpkin snowman and the glitter on his hat is perfect.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Dear.
ReplyDeletePlease come over and see an early Christmas "present," for you. >,-)
And probably for lots of people.
Hope it can last!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and I tested and really prefer the Comment Form Placement Setting, called
Pop-up window. ,-) 'Cause I like to see allllllllll of the post/pics, which I'm trying to Comment on. Perhaps you'll like it even better, than your "Show Original Post" Setting. 'Cause with yours, we can't see the post and Pictures.
Maybe?
Always playing in blogging. We both are! :-)))))))
Oh my gracious!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Mosaic!!!!
And what wonderful decorating, you have done!!!!!!!!!!!!
WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Visiting your blog is so much fun! Your mosaic is wonderful and I know that it took some time to create as well! Your home must be just beautiful with all the extra-special touches you put into it.
ReplyDeleteThere you go, Aunt Amelia! Don't ever tell me that I don't listen to your suggestions. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks for the visit! I love your blog. I'm not so crafty but I sure liked the music and ribbon idea. Hmmm... wondering where I can do that in my home.

Oh Vee . .you have really outdone yourself. I perused the selection to see what I might be capable of. I am going to look more carefully at the paper snowflake..it is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Vee, it looks like you are getting off to a good start on a jolly holiday! Your home and decorations look so beautiful and the mosaic is stunning, you should print that up as the front of your Christmas cards, I would! Thanks for the sweet mention. I hope you have a happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteahhh, beautiful mosaics..
ReplyDeleteWell, if I had made a
EAT STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, I would have had to have, first, a BUNCH of letters and then a SUPER sized wall. :)) But, like him, I DO like
Strawberry shortcake...in fact, now I am wanting one for breakfast.:)
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I am always saying I want to make a mosaic, but they look so hard..I am really going to try to make one during my Christmas break. It might take me all day, but I am going to try.
Have a sweet day and big hugs,
Elizabeth
I love your mosaic, so much to look at there. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee - the snow pic was from last year's snow Feb 12,13. We got about 5-6 inches, but it was the most we'd had in 15-20 years! Other than just a dusting...Right now, we're still having fall.
ReplyDeleteNow THIS is a neat mosaic! A mosaic within a mosaic! It looks very festive, very holiday-y, and very Christmas-y! I like your ornaments you did with old cards and glitter! Glitter always makes things look festive! I'm between places right now with some renovations going on at home and staying at the farm while they are being done. I don't know yet where I'm gonna put my Christmas tree!!!
EEEk!
You have been busy and with very pretty results!
ReplyDeleteFirst your photos and how you do them are wonderful...I so need to learn.
ReplyDeleteI have been making the big snowflakes also...we did them years ago and hung them in the windows, since we usually don't have snow. I still love, love the pumpkin...well everything is beautiful...so enjoyed looking!!!
I'm slow getting into the spirit of the season, but lovely mosaics like yours are getting me there faster! :-D
