My Daughter's Hat

Okay, this is the scoop: If you're a member of any blogger's family, you must be willing from time to time to become blog fodder. Now I know that there are a few exceptions to this because some of you respect your family members so much that you would never subject them to the rigors of repeated photos and efforts to get just the right angle and whatever.it.is.that.control.freak.bloggers.such.as.I.with.camera.in.hand.wish.to.do.with.my.subject.

For some time, my daughter and I have been waiting to show what I did with the Anthropologie gift certificate won awhile ago at Penny's The Comforts of Home. (Have you seen Penny's new header?) I gave it to my daughter who ordered two caps...one fit; one didn't. It takes time to make the switch, but the new cap came in this week. I begged her to come and show me—photo op. I twisted her arm just a titch. She was pretty okay with it despite a long day at the office, but by the last row there...not so much. And by the last photo ... if looks could kill!

My daughter, she's an "L," loves both her hats and says that this one is very nice and warm and is going to complement all of her winter coats. Perfect! (And when I catch her wearing the other one...)

Have a great Thursday! (Today is craft day at my house starting in about an hour. I'll be catching up with all of you later.)

  1. Love that hat and it looks great on your daughter! She's lovely.

Strange, isn't it, how they are never as "into" photo ops as we are?!!

Please tell her "thank you" from me for posing.

  2. Craft day sounds like so much fun! Wish that were what I was doing today but I am on a mission to find a tree. It seems Handy Hubby stored ours in the barn not the nice sealed shed and a mouse family chewed up my beautiful little white tree and now it looks more shabby than chic!

Love the hat and what a pretty girl to go in it! Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for mentioning my header! Those are last years photos, because I have not started decorating yet. Today I clean....tomorrow I start decorating...

  7. Pretty hat, pretty girl.

I agree with Miss Sandy that a craft day sounds like a lot of fun. Instead I'll work on an oral presentation on the role of humor in children's literature - in French.
I'd rather be crafting! Enjoy your day.

  8. Now she can be proper while praying constantly, covering her head as not to dishonor herself, per St. Paul's instructions. I always wonder why more women don't snag that verse for justification, and load up on cute hats!

  9. I don't think that she's too concerned about St. Paul's instructions...more about warmth and cuteness. ;D

  18. Your daughter is one of those Lucky Ladies who look great in a hat. This hat is adorable, but wouldn't be nearly as cute without her lovely face under it.

  20. What a lovely daughter. I bet she looks just like you. Lovely hat too. I have been having a hard time juggling things lately. Decorating, doing the usual this time of year and normal housework. Then around this time at night when I usually visit blogs with a cup of tea, instead I am looking forward to sleep.

    Have a lovely Friday.

  22. Vee, your daughter makes the hat! She's a very lovely girl and a good sport, too!

Yes, I know about taking family pics and putting them on the blog. They see me coming with the camera - especially my boys and they run the other way and start holding their hands up blocking me!

Ok, we're ready to see the other hat!
