Just when we'd given up hope of a White Christmas, a Nor'easter took a sharp left.
Can you tell that I'm still crazy about my spring wreath? Oh the decorating possibilities!
If you have a cactus hanging about and you don't know what kind it is and why it's blooming now or why it's sitting around twiddling its thumbs, La Tea Dah excellently spells it out at Gracious Hospitality on her post titled Bloom, O Christmas Cactus. I now know that I have an Easter cactus that sometimes blooms in November and again in spring. (It also sometimes blooms in July, but that's only when really confused.)
A happy day to you...
I have only experienced a white Christmas once in my life...and that was last year at age 48!!! Enjoy...and I love the spring wreath...how creative!
ReplyDeleteMerry White Christmas
If I were a cactus I would be blooming a lot right now...confusion!
ReplyDeleteIt is my new way of life....
Hi, thanks for visiting me today. Ilike that wreath of yours, very creative. Happy Holidays,
ReplyDeleteDidn't realize that you had lost your snow! But soooooooo glad you got some more!
ReplyDeleteOurs never went away, due to cold temps and... Whatever. So I kind of took for granted... a White Yule and a White Christmas. It's not necessary. But it sure adds to the ambiance, doesn't it? :-)
Today is Yule and the Winter Solstice, so I will wish you a Merry or a Happy Yule.
And send lots and lots of gentle Christmas hugs...
And nope, we didn't wake for the Full Lunar Eclipse. -grinnnnnnnnn-
ReplyDeleteYeah!! You have snow!!!! Ours is all gone now and it doesn't look like we will have a white Christmas this year.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your spring wreath!!!
My cactus bloom at Holloween and then again in the mid winter around Feb....
Hugs,
Penny

I prefer white Christmases, and I think we're going to get one here! My parents are thrilled because they are visiting from sunny central California where they never get snow.
ReplyDeleteI like your wreath!
Vee you're so lucky to have a bit of the white stuff! Makes it really feel like Christmas! and Your wreath is absolutely Charming. I don't know what that dessert is on your sidebar but it looks very tasty with that hot cocoa! Happy Holidays... Enjoy every minute!
ReplyDeleteHi colorchic~
ReplyDeleteIf you click on that sidebar photo, it will take you to the recipe. I am planning to bake it up again some time today myself.
Thank you for stopping by, I tried to visit you, but I see that you're still "thinking" about a blog. Do it! It'll be the best fun you've ever had.
I just posted a comment but it flew out the window, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI am loving that wreath.
Have a very blessed Christmas..
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by!
I have had many white Christmases and can say that there is nothing like it! It's a wonderland....
Never had a Christmas cactus but they sure are pretty when they're blooming.
Merry Christmas!
Oh I hope it will snow here for Christmas! So weird that we had a White Thanksgiving week. Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteHappy & Merry Day to you Vee!
Vee, I love that wreath!! And, I didn't realize that there was an Easter cactus...I thought that they were all Christmas cactus'. They were always my favorite house greens and so very forgiving, but now I have no great windows for them and I miss having them. It was like having little buddies in my kitchen with me :)
ReplyDeleteOh, a white Christmas! In our 8 Christmases on the Island we've seen one white Christmas. Somehow, snow for Christmas seems just right. Rain is predicted for us instead.
ReplyDeleteMy "Christmas cactus" blossomed in November this year so I'm off to see what your friend suggests.
Enjoy the snow!
I still love that wreath too, I can see you have fun with that all year long! No cactus here, they fear death, a green thumb I do not have. Love the snow, wish it would blow my way!
ReplyDeleteNor'easter may be just be the beginning of a lot of snow. I'm so happy to have a few things blooming inside, the look especially nice against the windows framing the ten inches of snow outside!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing worse than a confused cactus, huh? Well, maybe stepping on raw chicken in your bare feet..
ReplyDeleteAnyway..have a wonderful White Christmas (as long as you don't have to drive..or shovel..or drive anywhere!)
White here too - very white. But it is warming so who knows what it will be on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI love your wreath, Vee. Those springs are stunning! Have a very Happy Christmas!
No snow here in the middle of the country. Seems like it's been all around us, tho. Our turn will come, but most likely not until after Christmas. I like your wreath, and I must pop next door to see if my neighbor's Christmas Cactus is blooming. Merry Christmas to you and yours! Bess
ReplyDeleteHi Vee - I commented on here this morning, but something happened and it all vanished! That Blogger!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love your spring wreath. And you can enjoy it just about anywhere in your home! It's 81 degrees here right now. I'm about to peel off my long sleeves and put on something cool. That snow you've got is looking pretty great right about now! Send some our way, why doncha???
Just love your spring wreath, Vee. Makes me want to find some springs. Okay, its back to house cleaning I go...gotta have a little blog break now and then, ya know! ~Cheryl
ReplyDeleteI must have a Christmas cactus because it is blooming right now.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so cold here that the inch or two we had last week is still around!!
It's about 70 degrees here today, but will turn cold again tonight I hear! I remember a few special white Christmas' here in the south- when I was 5 and my aunt, uncle & cousins were at our house-my oldest daughter's first Christmas and my late father's last Christmas. Each a special memory I'll never forget.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Christmas!

I heard on the news last night that the last time we had a white Christmas was in 1947, so it's not likely we will have one this year. Instead I will enjoy yours which looks even nicer with that lovely wreath in the foreground ;).
ReplyDeleteI must check out the cactus link. Mine seems to be of the Thanksgiving variety.
Well what do you know. I must have 2 different kinds in the same pot:) Oh well it add interest.
ReplyDeleteLove the spring wreath - very festive!
Enjoy your white Christmas!
Leann
Just wanted to stop in a say hi.....I can see why you are so in LOVE with that wreath....it is so unusual and special..it is just great!
ReplyDeleteAlso...I have had many Christmas cactus over the years and it seems they bloom when they want too...not necessarily at Christmas....LOL LOL Our maker must be whispering to them with instructions.

We might also have a white Christmas thiss weekend...the weatherman keeps telling us so!
ReplyDeleteI love your wreath...and as you said it has multiple possibilities for every holiday.
I have a Christmas cactus that blooms red flowers every Christmas. I love it except when all the blossoms and pollen fall all over my windowsill..right about now! :)
The lights are always prettier reflected on the snow :) Congrats on your Christmas snow!
ReplyDeleteVee, your spring wreath is totally awesome! You are so creative! I love it and see it as a framework of endless possibilities!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout-out about my Christmas cactus post. I'm having such fun with mine --- that I bought another one yesterday (this one in red). They were 50% off at Lowes and I couldn't resist. :D
Merry Christmas
LaTeaDah
I'm in South Florida ... the last exit on the mainland to be exact, so I don't think we'll have much of a white Christmas or everyone north of us (which is the whole US) will be pretty miserable!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I LOVE YOUR WREATH! I wish I could have a pink Christmas tree, but hubby just laughs and says, "Oops! We had a boy!" It'll happen one day! Merry Christmas!
I do love that wreath! Gotta get me some bedsprings. I've also seen them used as candle holders.
