Now Sharon has been cultivating plants and flowers since childhood so it did not surprise me that she also cultivates wonder.
the sweetest bookmark
The books arrived yesterday...
Sunflower Houses, Hollyhock Days, Toad Cottages & Shooting Stars
Sharon had asked, "Shall I inscribe them?"
I assured her that that would be wonderful and so she has...a unique message in each one!
Thank you, Sharon!♥
And so I enjoyed the most blissful of afternoons on the sofa surrounded by everything from the dog to the laundry reading Hollyhock Days from cover to cover. Such a delightful book!
As it happens, I have been gifted with Toad Cottages & Shooting Stars twice. I am keeping them both. One I shall allow the grands to read with their mom and dad. But wouldn't it be lovely to have a giveaway right here of Sharon's latest, Toad Cottages & Shooting Stars? Yes! I thought so, too. If you have children or grandchildren, a grandbaby or four on the way, you will so enjoy this wonderful book of ideas and activities. No hoops to jump through, no following, no need to share (unless you'd like), just leave a comment. One will suffice. This giveaway will be over by Saturday at 7 pm. Yes, I do work fast.
A wonderful Thursday to you!
Thank you for participating. Comments are now closed. Winner to be announced later this evening.
The winner: Diane at Lavender Dreams!
Lucky you. There is nothing like curling up in your nest with a good book. I love to read and am sharing that love with the grands. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that I am your first commenter today? (It is more often that I am the last!) Ahhhh...the early bird gets the worm, so they say. I wonder if she would also get the Toad (Cottages and Shooting Stars)? It's certainly worth a try! :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you for offering this giveaway, Vee!
Blessings on your day...
No babies on the way, no grands either, until the future anyway. But I do like to say Hello to you each day if I can. Hope you have an enjoyable day today too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful books and what lovely handwriting to make your win even more special.
ReplyDeleteCurling up with a good book sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon...I'll have to do that...soon. For today I am off to Lititz with some friends from Etsy. I think I shall enjoy that too.
How sweet of you! And what wonderful books! I hope I can sit in the lanai and read some today...it's a good plan, I think! Enjoy your day, my friend! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh! I love a good book! I am reading Molokai right now for book club and it is wonderful! Congratulations on your win and those fabulous books.
ReplyDeleteblessings,
karianne
I simply LOVE that picture! A real life pic. Not staged. Not smoothing out real stuff, in a real house. I LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, these books sound delightful. I'm so happy your won them. But you know me...
Since I never did a give-away, I will not join in any sweet give-aways done by sweet bloggers.
Good luck to all who enter.
I will leave my space vacant.
:-)
Did I tell you I love your picture? ,-) Yes I did.
Oh and!!!!!!!! You put that delightful pic, to the left of the words in your paragraph!!! So!!!! You will be able to tell me how to do that!!!!!
I can't anymore and I wined about that, today. Please and thank you, when you get the time, send me a helpful email. On placing pics to the left/right of words on our blog. Rather than always, right-smack-dab-in-the-middle-of-the-screen, between paragraphs. :-)
"Deep within the winter forest,
among the snowdrifts wide,
you can find a magic place
where all the fairies hide..."
Congratulations on your win, Vee. The books look wonderful and the personal message from Sharon makes them extra special.
ReplyDeleteI have recently discovered Sharon's blog, but have not read any of her books yet. I think I've been missing out.
So nice of you to offer this giveaway.
Ohhh, and I APPLAUD you, for not making your Dear Readers *jump-through-hoop* to enter!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't enter, but I do find it kind of "put-off-ish" to read bloggers tell their Dear Readers, to do this and do that and do the other thing, to enter once, twice, 3 times, or whatever.
Yishhhhhhhhhh...
Quite pompous. And quite "put-off-ish."
There I said it! I don't enter. So I can say something like this. -grin- One of those things-no-one-else-wants-to-say. -heh,heh,heh-
"Deep within the winter forest,
among the snowdrifts wide,
you can find a magic place
where all the fairies hide..."

I remember seeing no her blog that it was you who had won the books. It was like keeping it in the family. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Sharon's books! I can't wait until her new one is published, hopefully in time for Faith's birthday this summer. She is my outdoor birds and gardens type girl.
What a sweet post! And how nice of you to share!
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact I do have grandbabies on the way! FOUR! And as I told their mother yesterday - they will be very good at sharing and close to each other as they grow up since they are in such close quarters in the womb!
I love 'Real' pics, too!! We ARE all REAL people!!
Happy Thursday to you!
Vee
ReplyDeleteI bought Sunflower houses several years ago for my gardening daughter
to share with her little daughter
(four at that time). They have grown a 'sunflower hide-out' every
year since.
Last year I bought 'Toad, Cottages, etc' for myself-for when the g'kids come. I plan to collect them all!
How blessed you are to have received these directly from Sharon! I know you're going to love them.
Delightful - I love her books - have borrowed them from the library - but I don't own any myself!
ReplyDeleteMaybe this will remedy that or else I'll have to put it on my book list...
Deanna

ReplyDeleteHow is it that I've never heard of Sharon Lovejoy? You know where I'm headed right after I post this comment.
ReplyDeleteAs a relatively new Nana of one darling, with another due to arrive in June, I welcome all and any ideas of how to spend quality time with these precious little ones. So, yes, I'm entering your giveaway.
Sharon's books are so delightful...just like she is! I'm glad you were the winner of her give away, Vee.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a chance to win a copy of "Toad Cottages & Shooting Stars" to read to my grandboys!
Congrats on the wins. Such cute books.
ReplyDeleteSince all my grands are almost grown and read to ME, I will let my chance of winning go to those with small grands. :)
Thanks for the chance, tho.

Hugs,

Somehow I missed this post until I scrolled down from today's post! I have never heard of this writer (?) but I'm living under a rock up here I guess. The book sounds delightful and I'm sure my grands, (yes, there is another one on the way!), would get pleasure out of it one day. So, maybe I'll win! Hugs, Pamela
ReplyDeleteHow generous you are. I have nine grands...all who love the outdoors and growing things. I'd love to share this book with them.
ReplyDelete"Toad Cottages" looks like such fun! I'm looking for activities to entertain my great-niece and eventually her baby sister who will be arriving in a few short weeks.
