Warning~Grumpy Morning

We woke up grumpy this morning.

Do not let his picture fool you.

I was reading this to him first thing.

It all started last night when I wore these to go shopping.

We went to L*wes and parked close to the door. As you can see from my detailed map, the plan didn't work quite as I had hoped. Not only that, we didn't find what we were looking for,

which was this. After four stops, we finally found it at B*d, B*th, and B*yond.

This is why the aforementioned book has not yet been given to my grandsons. Though I laugh uproariously at "Search Party...Remains Hopeful," I'm just not sure. Oh the book was purchased sight unseen via Amazon. I miss bookstores!

Have you ever noticed how when you wake up grumpy that the entire household conspires to aggravate it? Fioré just leaped from the floor onto my desk and across my mug of coffee over the computer wires and down to the window below. That cat! Awwww, that sweet face.

Don't feel bad-it's taken less to make me grumpy!
The book-hilarious. Yea, I'm not sure about reading it to the g'kids
    either.
I bet after a few cups of coffee and once you get to working on your project, you'll be smiling the rest of the day.

  2. Cute post Vee! I have some of those seam things, mine are silver though. Love them! I have never seen those books...but, they look cute too. For some reason I can't imagine you being a grumpy girl. Have a better day!

  3. The kids will LOVE that book-especially boys. :P Anything slightly inapproprate is good. :)

I hope that your day gets better! I know exactly what you're talking about....

  4. Yesterday was my incredibly grumpy day! LOL! I guess we all have them. Hope your day gets better. Uuummmm, I don't think I would pass that book on either.

  5. I'm so sorry you're grumpy because you have me laughing!

We all have days like this which I guess makes us very thankful for the good ones.

I don't understand the entrace and exit doors in those hardward stores, either. I wonder who we can ask. Hmmmm...do you think the suggestion box would result in a rennovation?

I think I would hesitate to give that book to my grandson, too, but it sure had me laughing.

  6. Second time trying to post my comment,Vee, so if it comes up double, blogger wouldn't let me on first try.
    Here is what I said...
There is no way a person with a sweet smile like that be grumpy! ~smile~
I sometimes feel as though I am living my life through your blog, we are going this morning for the second time this week searching for a certain item, and both of us have decided not to come home until we have found it, So if you don't see around me just know I am still searching. ~grin~
I am glad you found yours. Did you gasp and breath a sigh of relief when Fiore missed tipping your coffee over? Another sweet face
    Enjoy your day,
    Hugs,
    Sue

  7. We all have those kinds of days!

That book looks funny - but I am with you, I wouldn't read it to the boys! Now maybe my girls...Lindsay and Emily would especially laugh at it..."search party still hopeful." I am giggling right now just thinking of that! :)

Take a look at my girls on their trail ride on my blog and you and John will not be grumpy anymore!

  8. Glad to know it's not just me.

Why is it that "things" are NEVER found in the store you expect them to be?

  9. In my house I am amazed at how quickly one person's bad mood spreads to all the rest....good moods seem to be less contagious. I didn't know about those seam things. I might should get one since I just spilled some hamburger meat down that little crack the other night.

  10. "These boots were made for walking...and that's just what I'll do..." Were your boots not comfortable? I know I have to wear athletic shoes to go to Walmart! It's a 'hike' to shop there! Hope you're warm and comfy this morning! ♥

  11. I am a little grumpy today myself. It is raining and thundering here....in Jan. Dark, gloomy. We are expecting 2 inches of rain today.

Your post made me a little less grumpy...thanks!
    Hugs,

  12. The grumpy mood hovers over our house this morning too, I think it is our gloomy weather. Hopefully that frown will turn upside down!

  13. I certainly hope you are not grumpy anymore! I have done those kinds of trips to stores too and not find what I want...kind of a pain sometimes. The book had me laughing! Your cat is cute and your table looks inviting. Can I join you for coffee there?

  14. Hopefully by now things are looking up! Your guy really doesn't look grumpy at all. A very nice genuine smile on his face!

  15. It may be grumpy at your house but you just brightened my day with a laugh. Oh my....what a funny post.

    You are the best.

Sorry about the things that haven't gone right......we all have those days. Makes the good ones all the brighter.

  16. I am sorry you woke up grumpy, but at the same time I feel better hearing it. Why? because I woke up grumpy too and for some reason am having a hard time shaking it. Three days of gray, gloom outside and opening my computer to discover my e-mail account was hacked aren't helping matters. Although your map and that book did turn my frown upside down and for that I thank you.
Here's hoping the grumpies vanish from your household and mine ... SOON!

  17. I wake up grumpy every day...but then I send him off to work!
    Ta-Boom..

Love the look of that book..but I agree..it may be a read for the older groups..

Love your map..do you write for Google Maps? Sometime they seem to look a lot like yous :-)

  18. I've been looking for one of those seam things - now I know where to go!

  19. Our house was a little grumpy this morning also!

  20. I've had a case of the grumpitis for a few days now myself. Glad to know I'm not alone. I've not been shopping, which has been known to cause a severe case of g'itis, but battling a virus with a nasty cough which in turn produces nastier headaches.
The book looks interesting and funny. Just the thing to help dispel the gloomies. Here's to a better day for us!

  21. Hey you can't beat a bookstore for picking out a book. Hope the grumpy day turns out to be bright. Tell your cat to be more careful!

  22. You probably walked at least a mile in Lowes! We always walk and walk in that store too. It is hard to find things.
Hope your moods have improved and you've had a good day. : )

  23. Well, for a grumpy post, this one sure made me smile quite a bit! :D

And I would have gotten up grumpy if I had walked around L*we's that much too. When we remodeled our kitchen in 1995, I had my lifetime supply of visits there. Nowadays, Ron goes alone (he enjoys it more without me!) unless there is something that requires my opinion...and even then, I go with a sinking feeling, as if I am going to be trapped there, endlessly wandering the aisles following Ron as he searches for tiny plumbing parts or elusive screws, bored out of my gourd!! ~shudder~

And that book...must look that up at my library!! Hilarious!

  24. -chuckle- Vee was grumpy today! I just love it, when people act human. Why should I be the only one, to enjoy the *Wonders Of Being Grumpy*? ,-)

And ya' know, you are right... About how I should stop whining about this d*mn computer cord, or whatever it is. Do something! Call Kevin. See what he says. Ponder doing what he says, at least. All that jazzzzzzzzzzzz...

Thank you for telling-it-like-it-is, in your blissfully *grumpy* state. ,-)

Mmmmmm, why do you need boots? Do you still have SNOW? Wow, how lucky. Nothing here but grass, in its various shades of green to brown. Yishhhhhh....

  25. Oh, yes I have noticed that! ;-) You made the best of it, tho.

  26. Well, at least you are getting a chuckle from the book.

I woke up grumpy this morning, too. A bit peeved at my husband because I had a dream in which he did something that I did not like. At all. Poor man. But then we laughed. Silly dreams.

  27. I could certaily have used that book this morning when I went out to close the garage door and it crashed to the ground. This is all I saw: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I was so mad but eventually your brain settles down and you start thinking of things that go right.

    (Although that's not often.) :)

  28. Since you are grumpy, I will just tiptoe away and pretend that I wasn't even here...

  29. I NEVER wake up grumpy....but I know someone else in my home that does. Wish they had a pill for that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. A grumpy pill needed??
I tell ya, Vee, at my age, I am so danged proud to wake up each morning, feeling so good, that it takes a LOT...L.O.T. to make me feel grumpy. :))

Today, I spent the day playing Bunco with 11 friends and, boy, I sure did have a good time. :))

  31. Well those cookies sure do look yummy anyway. I made that wonderful meatloaf recipe that you shared - great!

On days when I'm a grumpy gus it seems like everything just snowballs.

You asked about a word for this year - I've been trying to think of one but nothing has come to mind yet.

Tomorrow is another day my friend!

  32. Tell John I love his kind of grumpy...the kind with a smile still in place! I'm sure by now things are looking up over there. The feet feel better...and the sun was shining all day. Right?

  33. Cute book! LOL I love to read "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" to my grumpy kids. It's a running joke that I'm going to Australia.

At least your darling John does not look grumpy. And your kitty looks so sweet.

    Have a wonderful day!

  34. Vee....I love the diagram. It is something I would do....and see the smile on your face while you are constructing it for documenting purposes.

    Fun!!

  35. Your sweet husband sure doesn't look grumpy. I'm glad you have you can find humor even when you're a bit grumpy.

I've missed reading your delightful post. I'm hoping I can start reading and interacting again.

  36. Thanks for the good laugh, I'm not grumpy this morning but you got my day off to a good start. ------Shannon

  37. You are funny, Vee! I have been catching up on your posts.

I remember when Judy Blume books became the rage. I wouldn't read them to my class as I didn't approve of all the bathroom humor. They get enough of that from tv w/ o their teacher reading it to them.

If I remember what a cookie is in 25 years I will be grateful!

Pouring here on LI, thunder, but thankfully no snow!

  38. Love your hand drawn map from your trip to L*wes...just too funny. I am always grumpy when I have to accompany DH to that store as he likes to stand around for hours and stare at tools and such and I am the one walking the aisles...waiting and waiting for him to finish shopping.
