Every time I walk past the beautiful bouquet that my sister and her husband sent me, I smile. Earlier in the morning, a friend had encouraged me to "take joy" so I followed her advice and spent a lot of time getting to know my camera settings and taking photos of the flowers within the bouquet.
On this coldest of January days, I had to share.

Those are beautiful photos! I know the hurt from the loss of your Mother. I lost mine 25 years ago, I still miss her but the hurt is replaced with wonderful memories. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteIn April it will be ten years my mother passed. I really don't know how I dealt with it in the early days. As old as I am, I still want my mother a lot of times. I do have my precious memories, and the knowledge that she is just a thought, a prayer or a dream away. xo
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that you had a good day, Vee! You are so right about grief being unpredictable. Soemtimes it hits you out of the blue and hurts like crazy and overwhelms...and then when you think it will be at its worst, you are surprised by comfort and warm memories. So I am glad that this day of anniversary had its surprising joys.
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is gorgeous...stunning, in fact! What a gift of cheer, that bouquet of beautiful flowers!
Hugs to you...
And YOU have comforted me by yesterday's post! Thank you and for today...imagine, all that beauty in one bouquet. Joy IS there, for the taking. I appreciate that thought too. An invisible hug is being sent your way at this moment! ~ Gwen ~

Your flowers are just beautiful and the way you used Gradient 6 makes for a very beautiful mosaic! I'm glad your day was a good day. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Vee!
ReplyDeleteSuch a breath of fresh air seeing those gorgeous flowers... the aroma from them is delicious!
I love the scripture about comfort you posted yesterday. Comfort and Joy is so important to find in our sorrow. I know how you feel, it's been a year and a half that my mom has been gone. We were so blessed to have our moms as long as we did, I find great comfort in that. My half sister (we had the same dad) never knew her mother, she died when she was born and it was heart wrenching for my sister. But my sister is with her mom now and I'm so happy for that.
Blessings & comfort, Sherry
