~watch out, little lady, looks as if your friend may want to lop off those pigtails~
While shopping in a bookstore for the grands' birthdays (No, they're not twin-twins; they're Irish twins) last Friday, I found the sweetest book of Valentines. I decided to treat myself and have some fun punching them out.
I'm hoping that Lavender Dreamer will take note and be pleased that I took her advice. You know her advice, don't you? Never forget to play!
I made a very simple garland and hung it over the top of the other one and called my Valentine's Day Decorating done.
Stay warm and cozy now...
If it is freezing here in my corner, I can't imagine how cold it is in yours! ~~shiver~~
ReplyDeleteYour Valentine decorating is darling! I'll bet that will attract the attention of your grands! :)
Okay (talking to myself here), it is time to get up from this warm and cozy seat and go make some soup. (I'm having company today and I'd hate for them to find me still sitting here...)
P.S. You mean we haven't even reached the middle yet? Well, I won't complain. I used up my entire complaint quota complaining about summer.
ReplyDeleteHi Vee
ReplyDeleteDarn cold here too, going to be a long winter. Cute valentine garland, I don't do too much decorating but I may just get creative this year.
Judith
We are currently looking at 10 degrees right now! Cold is right! I like your idea using Valentines for your garland. Very cute, bet you had fun too! I must tell you Vee, I lost on keeping the sink. I wanted too, he saw No reason and before I knew it he had it out of there. Some battles I just don't win! I explained every craft room needs a sink. He disagreed! :( Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt is most unfortunate because you, of course, were right!
DeleteCold here too, comparing to your place one might consider it warm! ~smile~ I Like what you did with the Valentines, I am always looking for cute ones, as I too like to play. My mom who just turned 85 reminded us last week at her party, that she is never going to grow up, evidently it works as she doesn't look her age. ~smile~ Wishing the boys a very happy birthday
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, and stay warm.
Sue
Yes Ma'am, it is ding-dang-cold over here! But then, isn't all of our Beloved Country, a-bit-or-a-lot colder than usual?
ReplyDeleteAnnnnnnnd, the Full Wolf Moon is coming this Saturday.
Sad to say, this Full Moon is messin' with Ol' Auntie! It's like I have an "IMP" on my shoulder, urging me to do-this-and-that with my computer. And needless-to-say, what I do, messes with my Settings. -moan- -sob- -sigh-
It's happened twice already, and so....... I am spreading the word...... Be aware of the Full Wolf Moon on Sat. And the *interesting* things, which can happen. Watch out for *An IMP* on your shoulder, too!!!!!!
Bahhhhhhhh-humbug...
:-)
"Auntie"
Good morning! Well we are still having WARM weather here in Cali. Suppose to be 78 today. However, it is over come tomorrow. Noticed the temps are going to drop back down to the upper 50's the rest of the week. I know, that is still warm to you. The Valentines are just darling! Cute idea! Enjoy the rest of your day, and keep warm!
ReplyDeleteOh that is such a cute and clever idea! I may use it in the store!
ReplyDeleteIrish twins! How fun! Were they born in the same calendar year or just within 12 months of each other?
Off to visit Cheryl!
Deanna
12 months 6 days of each other so different years.
DeleteI've freezing my giblets here! At least the wind has died down. It was so strong that we had lake affect snow all the way to our place.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever start to complain, I just look at the weather map and see our old stomping grounds (that being the Holland-Zeeland area of Michigan next to the Lake). They have been receiving days and days of lake affect, as are those east of Erie. I remember the nine years we lived there when one felt they were living in a snowglobe.
Absolutely love those valentines. What is it about "vintage" that warms our hearts? Hmmmm... something to ponder.
CUTE!!!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes understated works wonderfully. Love it, Vee!
BTW - haha - I giggled about the term "Irish Twins" you used...haven't heard that in years. I do want you to answer Mrs. Rabe's question, as I wondered the same thing.
My momma's first two were only 11 months apart...then many many years between that 2nd child and ME...........then she had another two years later and her last two years later.
I have an older brother, an older sister, a younger brother and a younger sister...smack dab as middle as possible with one of each. Add that I am a Libra and you will understand why balance is so important to me, haha.
Hugs.
We're a bit chilled down south too this morning. The temperature of the minute is 24 degrees. Brisk! LOL, your valentine garland play looks so fun! And that little fellow on the card with the monstrous scissors could probably be arrested these days for wielding a weapon!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute idea! This week is chilly here. Yesterday was only 32 degrees for the high. We are suppose to have snow Friday, but we were suppose to have snow a week ago and it didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteWhat darling valentines. I love your decorating, Vee! And love that you don't forget to play!
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here! Very cold. But we're just enough south of Lake Erie that we don't get lake effect snow here. Though my son works where it is and it took him an hour and twenty minutes to get to work yesterday when it should only have taken thirty. I just heard the beginning of February will be the coldest weather we've seen since 1996. So more soup, I think!
Should have said what a precious idea it was, to get those 'punch-out' Valentines!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Auntie"
How sweet, cheerful, and playful♥
ReplyDeleteAnd it is C-O-L-D in northeast Indiana, I can confidently report. Brrrrrrr.
Vee, your garland is playful and just perfect for Valentine's Day. I might just have to "borrow" that idea as my time is limited too. Stay warm and think spring--my favorite quote by Hal Borland is "No Winter lasts forever, no Spring skips its turn!" XOXO
ReplyDeleteIt has been bitter cold here since Sunday. It has warmed a bit today.
ReplyDeleteI like your valentine garland!
Morning Vee, how cute are those Valentines, I would have bought them to.....Love the garland, great job, Francine.
ReplyDeleteSmart gal to buy those adorable Valentine's and even smarter to stay inside where it's warm and have fun. Your garland is charming.
ReplyDeleteVery brisk here this morning, but the sun is streaming through the windows and the coffee is hot.
I love the old fashioned Valentine's you found Vee. Your garland is just sweet. Warm hugs for you from me. (that could be on a Valentine card couldn't it)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find those adorable valentines! Love them!
ReplyDeleteTalk about a trip down Memory Lane. The valentine garland is such a cute and cheery decoration for "Vee's Kitchen Window".
ReplyDeleteWhat a great garland. They say that imitation is the best form of flattery. I think I'll copy your idea for our front window. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this idea and what fun! Thanks for sharing. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYour garland is so charming! What a great way to use those valentines. We are super cold here, too. I'm happy there is no place I have to be today.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Those are the most precious cards! Great way to display them. Winter isn't over by a long shot...
ReplyDeleteWow! Someone took MY advice? Amazing! It sure looks like a good day to stay inside and play! I love your pretty garland. Maybe I will print some Valentines out today and make a sweet garland, too! It's sunny here but every day is a good day to PLAY! Sweet Southern hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThese are delightful and such treasures to the eye..they made me smile...yes, don't forget to have fun.
ReplyDeleteIt is in the high 60's here...so off we go to the park, in short sleeves, just ready for spring...and yes ready too early, but the sun feels great.
Thank you for your sweet words today....your encouragement is always appreciated!
Hi Vee
ReplyDeleteWell you know that I LOVE it! Perfect for playing!!! I'm still home under the weather:(
Enjoy the Love!
Leann
BTW - I have 2 nephews 10 months apart - the older one just turned 1 on Sunday! The baby was just born in November.
Oh my gosh, that's adorable!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute! I need to click that link because anyone with that attitude is just my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I love your garland. I did more decorating than usual for heart day. I guess 'cause I didn't do much for Christmas. Need to fine tune and take some pix. Stay warm! Unfortunately, where we live in the Northeast winter goes a lot longer than March 21st, the first day of spring. I've had heat going til early May!! :/ xo
ReplyDeletePure sweetness!
ReplyDeleteReally like those Valentine Day cards and love what you did with them. : )
ReplyDelete7 degrees here this morning - that's cold for my neck of the woods.
Fun garland! I might copy you. It's not terribly cold here, but rainy and dreary. I'm ready to escape!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful image with the garland hanging at the window with the lace curtain behind it, and the cupboard next to it. Looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely spot for a cuppa.
We are cool here today as well - although not your sort of cool, but it is relatively cool as we had been having scorching days previously with the threat of bush fires hanging over us, yesterday the weather dropped right down and its raining.
Will have to rug up today (mostly because of the sudden drop from hot to cold, you seem to feel it more.)
cheers
Fi
i would never have thought to play that way!
ReplyDeleteit's an adorable banner and great reminder
to LOVE!
Love the cute Valentine garland. I love to play. Trouble is that I don't do anything constructive like making garlands when I'm playing. It's more fun to see what others have made. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty chilly here. I had to get out earlier than I usually do to take a kitty to the vet today and it was in the teens then. Brrr!! It's warmed up a bit as the day progressed. At least the sun is shining and that helps.
Ahh yes, it is fun to play! Love your garland. I think we might be finally warming up here since the rains have returned...
ReplyDeleteLove the Valentine garland, just beautiful. It is freeeezing here too. Your grands share a birthday? How special for them. ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteLove the garland...with the vintage looking valentine's! I'm just taking note that I will be gone over Valentine's Day this year. Maybe I'll 'pass' on the decorating...but I know the grands will still want a party. We'll have to fit that in on another day. Love is a good theme any day of the year, right?
ReplyDeleteI love your Valentine decorating. That's about all I do too. I bet you had fun though.
ReplyDeleteIt's freezing here too.
It's not cold in Texas - at least not THIS week!
ReplyDeleteI love your Valentine garland! I'm going to a store over the weekend and
buy a box and make one for the camper.
Irish Twins!! I'd never heard that term before and had to goggle it! WOW! That would be even harder than TWIN twins!!
We are in a Canadian deep freeze here!! -15 to -20sC!!! Love your valentine garland. We just found some of my MILs vintage valentines and I'm trying to come up with some decorating ideas with them. Want to frame some - they are so amazing. Always love visiting here Vee - you have such a wonderful way of lifting my spirits!
ReplyDeleteVee, those are the sweetest valentines.. I wish I could find some sweet vintage looking valentines to copy your idea.
ReplyDeleteWe are missing winter this year. They were just talking about it on the news today that while our mountains are enjoying a perfect winter, we seem to have no arctic fronts in sight....so maybe...winter is over here before it began.
Stay cozy!
Stay cozy sweet friend!!! I can't even imagine living where you do...but possibly you don't have to deal with the bugs and humidity that we have to down here in the south! xxxooo, Dawn
ReplyDeleteHumidity, definitely. Bugs, perhaps not as bad.
DeleteI love the nostalgic look of these valentines, Vee! The garland looks adorable.
