Lavender, Peace and Calm, and Joy

I had no idea that peace and calm could be packaged and sold, ditto joy, but as you can plainly see, there it is.

John's sister JP visited yesterday bringing gifts and we are all intrigued. She said that the lavender would help with sleep and boy is she right! JP put a bit on Nan's wrists then Nan promptly left for her room where she napped for two and a half hours. I tried it last night and can report that I enjoyed a peaceful sleep as well. Hope that John also benefited from the gentle aroma. Can't wait to try the other fragrances. What a thoughtful gift from a sweet gal who also reads my blog. Thank you, JP!

Wishing you all lavender dreams, peace and calm, and joy can't hurt either. Now go create a terrific Saturday...

  2. Interesting...

But what if you are the "only person" on the planet, who dislikes the aroma of Lavender? -le sigh- Yup, that's me. Dislike it! -le sigh-

Actually though, [knock on wood] I don't have troubles with sleeping. :-)

Hope you too, woke to a lovely morning, over in your "neck of the woods"! Beeeutiful sun outside and neat for the [late] Flag Day Parade today. We'll probably be steamin' by later but... It IS Summer. :-) I have to learn to soak Summer in, while it's here! Mmmmm, remind me of this later, when I'm sweating. lol.

    Gentle hugs...

  4. I have an aversion to the scent of lilacs, but I love the aroma of lavender. I had no idea that it's good for sleep. I'll have to look into getting some lavender into my life!

Hope you're having a great Spring. dana

  8. What a lovely and thoughtful gift. I find the scent of lavender to be light and pleasant. How good to know that it will help with sleep too. Much better than a sleeping pill.

  9. I do love the scent of lavender--and I like lavender tea also. There really is something calming about it! Aromatherapy works-just as music to affect the way we feel. I know that I feel so much better with just a little spritz of my favorite Fifth Avenue cologne--I feel more calm and like myself. Is that weird? V.

  10. Oh, isn't lavender such a wonder herb?! I have always adored it. And that was very thoughtful of JP. Here's a tip you can also try: put a little drop of essential oil on a old fashioned light bulb (not the stupid twirly kind with mercury hidden inside) and the heat from the bulb will help diffuse the scent in your room!

Haha, I saw your comment about wheels on a bed. I guess the Victorians were a bit enamored with wheels on furniture there for a while. I think it helped them move the items for cleaning. Who knows?!

  14. Vee, I've been using these products for years and have several diffusers including the one gifted to you. Every morning I put 4-5 drops of Peace & Calming in my bath water. I love the fragrance. I make a lavender spritzer and spray our pillowcases and sheets every morning when I make our bed. Since my surgery a couple of weeks ago, I'm convinced that the lavendar is giving me restful nights...even our two little dogs sleep very soundly. I was convinced that lavendar worked when a semi threw a rock up on our windshield a few years ago. It did some damage to the windshield, but our poor little dog was terrified. I rubbed a couple of drops of lavendar in my palms and rubbed her back and the sides of her face. Soon she was sleeping peacefully ~ a dog doesn't know that it's suppose to be helpful!

  16. Hmmm..I wonder if they could bottle "thin" and "wealthy-enough-to-travel"? Of cource, it would have to be called something simple like "Full" and "Go" lol
Sound interesting, and can I say one more time, I love the music you choose - it brings me peace and joy and calm..thank you!
