A Haven for Vee

Kinda Furious Actually...

We are having a rough day...very. It'll probably be a few more rough ones. Nan is scraped and bruised and hurting so much that we can barely touch her plus she is practically paralyzed. Needless to say, I'll catch you on the flip side.  I'm not thinking such happy thoughts now about that doctor who looked all of fourteen. If I ever had to talk to her again, she'd get a piece of my mind that I could ill afford to lose. If anyone should have stayed in the hospital for a few days, it's Nan. We're actually waiting on word from her doctor.

Thank you for all your prayers. We're surely going to need them. I'll be thinking of you all, too.

  2. Praying for you and Nan, Vee. Geriatric medicine is a whole 'nother thing, and I'm not sure most doctors really "get" it.

Hang in there. I wish Nan and you weren't having to go through this.

  5. I missed your post yesterday and just left a comment there. You have every right to be kinda furious. Do you think that when you do speak to the dr. you could kinda insist that Nan needs to be in the hospital? It seems like it might be the best place for her if she is in that much pain.
    Prayers continue.

  7. Oh no! I hope Nan's personal physician was helpful, Vee. What a difficult situation you are in. Saying prayers right this minute that a good solution will be found to help Nan recover in less pain.

  8. I am praying for you.

Although I have the nicest doctor, my opinion of the health care right now is not very favorable.

It's so much about money and not about the patient.

  12. Oh Vee, I am praying that Nan gets a bed. It seems unbelievable that she would not be admitted. Health care in Canada has it's fair share of critics but we wouldn't be seeing this. It is really sad that someone who has lived so long needs to suffer in a country she must love.

  13. I'd be kinda furious as well!
Hopefully her Dr. will have something useful to say about all of this.

I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I can only imagine what you are going through right now... :(

  15. Kinda furious...I'd be absolutely furious. Poor Nan...so much pain with a medical society who doesn't seem to really care. Thank God she has you! I know this has to be not only physically but emotionally tiring...hang in there. One step, one moment at a time. God Bless all of you.

My heart goes out to the 3 of you, and my prayers as well.
I am praying for peace, rest, strength.
I think of you and your Nan through the day, and continue to pray as I do.

  17. Lovella said it so well! There is no reason someone who is of advanced age should have to suffer without adequate medical treatment!
Health care in America is a real disappointment to me right now!

  19. I am so sorry Vee. It is so frustrating to be at the mercy of such craziness. My mom says that in Vermont because of the shortage of bed, she sees countless elderly returned to home only to be in the ambulance again. She always complains that the way the elderly are treated is awful, and she is right.

My prayers are with you Vee.
