A Haven for Vee

Can't Stop Now

I've only just begun... Oops, omigosh, I forgot to get something for the fence basket (my mother's bicycle basket over there on the fence...empty as all get out). Last year it was filled with lobelia as I recall. Any ideas?

This year, clematis on John's trellis; last year, it was the lovely mandevilla (an annual). I've decided to leave the other two empty since so much is going on this summer with siding, etc.

The mess above still awaits. I was so tired that I simply walked away without doing another thing. Let's see, a blueberry bush, lavender, lantana, and some zinnias must yet be planted.

I could keep a small army busy. John is running errands related to gardening; my daughter is doing the grocery shopping for Monday's bbq, and I am blogging. What's wrong with this picture? ☺

A very happy and blessed Memorial Weekend to you...

  1. Nothing wrong with that! :)

Have fun gardening...for the basket - how about a Margerite Sweet Potato vine? They look great, kind of chartruse in color, they trail down beautifully....

    Have a lovely Saturday.

  3. Vee,

I can't wait to get my little gardens going at the cabin. Hope the ground is dry enough! I don't have real plants in Florida so my little garden is truly wonderful.

    Have a great bbq

  4. You rock!

You have purchased so much more in plantings, than we have! All we have are the (now old) Pansies and the 2 (will be) hanging tomato plants. :-)

And you were blogging, as you wrote this post, because we all need a break. To keep our mind in working order. "Auntie" sezzzzzzzzzzzzz! -grin-

Enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day Weekend!

    Gentle hugs,
    ~♥~

  13. My motto is to do what you can when you can. If you feel pressured then that takes the fun out of it.

  14. You're not doing anything wrong, LOL! You're doing what I want to do (blogging), but have little time for these days! All that digging in the dirt sure does create a lot of beauty at your place!

  22. It's good to have help! Blueberries! They're pretty in the spring and delish to eat.

    Happy Memorial Day!

P.S. Yes I think I had a pollination problem with those zukes. This year I planted some flowers in with them and maybe that helped with brining in pollinators cause I've got zukes this year!

  27. I always buy too many plants and wonder where on earth I'll find room for them! But that's half the fun, right? xo
