It's Here! They're Here!

Opening my box right in the middle of pink Depression glassware

It's here! Oh, I've been waiting for weeks days!

They're here!

When ordering from Amazon, one must get the super saver discount don'tcha know.  Ree's book about Charlie is very cute and beautifully illustrated. I know that the boys will enjoy that one.

This boy is going to enjoy this one. He has been enjoying the benefits of MGCC for several years now and often asks if a new and delicious recipe is from MGCC. He's often correct.

Love that back cover! You'll have to check it out for yourselves as my photo is a titch blurry. (I see a familiar looking vintage auto...)

On a serious note, I wish to commend this group of women who have been, and continue to be, so generous with their time and energies. Did you know that all the proceeds from this wonderful book are going to charities to feed hungry children? What a commitment of love! May God bless your efforts many times over, Ladies.

I love it, how I can "feel" your joy and excitement, from just the printed words on my computer screen. I can! I can almost see you doing a -happy dance- :-))))

    Gentle hugs...

  7. I LOVE Ree's cookbook, it is a delight for the eyes as well as good recipes (albeit fattening recipes!). I bought nine year old Elisabeth her own copy for her birthday after getting one for myself at such a great price.

I used Amazon credit to purchase Mennonite Girls Can Cook, I think it was on backorder since it took awhile but it shipped today. Can't wait to read through it since I LOVE their blog.

Charlie is going to be one of Faith's birthday gifts, hers is a July 4th birthday. Did you see on The Pioneer Woman blog the post where she showed all the preliminary drawings and how the book was illustrated?

  8. Oh, how fun!! I just got done reading an e-mail from Amazon telling me that my copy of MGCC was shipped today and then I come here to read your post. Now I'm more excited to receive it. I think it is wonderful how the ladies are donating the proceeds to such a good cause.

  15. I love the Mennonite Girls can Cook Cookbook, Vee! I hve had so much enjoyment reading everyone's story and the ispirational "Bread for the Journey" as well as the heirloom recipes. Many of those recipes are the same I remember my Ukrainian grandmother made whe I was a child and now it is like a treasure for me to have these recipes!

  21. BJ, yes! You are missing out. The good news is that the Mennonite Gals have a great blog and you can find it by following the link provided or Googling. You're in for some treats! (One of which should be Paska asap.)

  22. I got interrupted as I was leaving a comment here earlier...so let me try once again.

I'm so glad you got your cookbook...and a few more prize books for good measure! Just bring your MGCC-book out to one of our book-signings this weekend...and we'll sign away. It sure would be nice if all our blogger friends could join us! But we know that it is only in 'blogdom' where distance makes no difference!

And thanks for being such a good ambassador for both our book...and our blog. And thank John as well...for all the taste-tasting and rave reviews. You guys are the best.

  23. Vee,
I do enjoy a new cookbook. It makes for a great read! And fun too.
Obviously, you aren't having this problem, but if you have any suggestions......I can't publish new posts the last several days. It says on the bottom left corner of my screen, javascript void. If you have any suggestions...
    Have a terrific day!

  24. Carol, I Googled "javascript void" and there was a lot of info out there. All Greek to me, of course. Just my suggestion, but even though there are "fixes" available...not sure of costs... I'd get my resident geek in or ask a reputable computer guy. Sorry that you're having troubles!
