Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food, and medicine for the soul.
~Luther Burbank
Ahhhh, Luther...haven't thought of him in years, but remember reading his biography long ago. He must have been very happy indeed to work with flowers all of his life. He once crawled on hands and knees through his greenhouse sniffing each flower for the exact one that was giving off a sweet perfume. He found it!
~the lavender and the phlox smelled heavenly~
Had to tuck my grandson into this collage as he was having such a grand time sniffing flowers and wading through the tall grass.
Linking to Mary at Little Red House. If you've never participated in Mosaic Monday, it is a lot of fun to create a collage or a mosaic and to see what the other participants are doing. Why not join us?
Such pretty photos. Your grandson looks like he's having so much fun. Wishing you a nice week!
ReplyDeleteYour header is lovely!!! Makes me feel like I am walking up to visit you!
ReplyDeleteThat grandson is MOVING as all grandsons do! They stay in constant motion! My little Levi will be with me for two days and I'm trying to get most of my work done before he gets here in the morning so I can pay attention to HIM!
I love your lavender. It is one of my all time favorite fragrances and I can NOT grow it for the life of me! The last one I bought is dying a slow death by my back door.
Lovely mosaic! Wishing you a wonderful week!!
Beautiful photos, Vee. Love the header, too. xo
ReplyDeleteI love lavender! Your grandson does look like he is having fun, not minding that his photo taken.Beautiful flowers and images. Wishing you a happy week ahead!

Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteNew England for me, has always been a magical place. All those pretty states, surrounded by flowering fields, magnificent meadows and enchanting neighbourhoods. Your mosaics beam with happy colours, lively textures and fluid movement. How rich and pure the allure!

Beautiful collage and perhaps you have a future Luther Burbank there! And for sure you have a nature lover -- a gift to him from you I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like Luther!
ReplyDeleteYour header portrays a scene that is so cool and serene-looking. I love it!
Fun times! Love the flowers and the frolicking!
ReplyDeleteYour meadows and gardens are so colourful and gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat special memories you are making with your grandchildren, Vee - it's awesome he is taking the time to "smell the roses," as it were.
Lots of colour there.
ReplyDeleteMerle.......
Luther had the right idea, flowers can be your best friend. Your grandson looks like he is having a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh...lavender! Looks like everything has grown tall this summer! It has here in the South, too! I always love your mosaics! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice your grandson appreciates flowers! Pretty pictures. And the quote is so true. I gathered just scraps from the garden for a small bouquet and even that feeble attempt at something pretty made me happy.
ReplyDeleteThat border is beautiful! Flowers always make me happier!
ReplyDeleteWe both had in mind to share a grandson this week and the long garden bed is colourful and full of pretty flowers to investigate.

I love lavender but the last 2 years I've tried to grow it...no luck. I'm gonna keep trying.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite part-time jobs was working in a flower shop. I loved arranging flowers and mostly loved the scent of flowers that permeated the shop. Luther Burbank had it right! Love his quote.
Your mosaic is very nice. I'm gonna take a look at my pics and see if I can come up with one. It seems like all I've snapped lately are flowers...my favorite subject at the moment.
Such beautiful flowers, Vee. I love the clouds of color in your images. And the very active boy running through the flowers adds such joy. Don't you wish you had his energy? I do.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote by Luther Burbank - first I've heard of him.
That looked like some pretty tall grass G'Son was running through.
ReplyDeleteA young boy who takes time to smell the flowers make just be the next Luther Burbank.
Mosaics Monday-I may have to give it a whirl!
Lovely, lovely photos and mosaic Vee! The pic of your grandson is pure delight. I hope you have a blessed week ahead and no rain!! Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteHi Vee! Your photos are lovely and the picture of your grandson is very sweet. Thank you for the quote - I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Have a wonderful Monday!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I love the quote and your mosaic is beautiful. Your grandson does look like he is having fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote! We should all take time to stop and smell the lavender~ beautiful mosaic!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of that man (Luther) before. I love the quote, and I like your mosaic, too. I love that you caught your grandson running through the grass. Takes me back to when I was a kid and not afraid of the secrets hidden in the tall grasses.
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed not to have secrets in the tall grass beyond a tick or two in early summer. ☺
DeleteLovely! I'd join in on the mosaic fun, but I have already bitten off more than I can chew and swallow. I'll be content to watch the creations of others. :-)
ReplyDeleteFlowers certainly make me feel happier, and seeing your grandson romping in the tall grass is another a joyful sight to see!! :)
ReplyDeleteWish I had your granson's energy and I would jump a few flowerbeds in glee too. Happy day Vee. Valerie
ReplyDeleteLove your grandson in the wonderful mosaic photos ~ thanks ~ Happy Week to you ~ xxooo
