A Haven for Vee

Red Roof

Ever drive by a scene where a home sits high in the hills and looks so charming that you must take the photo? This happens to me all the time. I'm going to start calling it the "Safe Drive-by." Now, thanks to cropping and zoom features, we can actually hope to see what the home really looks like.

Thank you so much for all the comments, concern, and prayers. I had a further setback yesterday afternoon when the dentist's office called to say that my appointment had to be rescheduled for Thursday instead of today. The tylenol with codeine isn't quite cutting it, needless to say, so I have spent as much time as I can sleeping. It's not good sleep, but it is a sort of sleep. Catch you all as soon as I'm back on my feet!

  1. Oh, poor Vee! I remember taking two Vicodin with my last tooth ache. They didn't help the tooth pain but made me crazy loopy. My endodontist said that a combination of Advil and Tylenol works best for dental pain. I've also been given an antibiotic when I had to wait for a root canal appointment and that stopped the pain in about 24 hours. Thursday is a long time to wait when you're suffering. I feel so sorry for you.

  2. Ohsigh... I didn't see your dental issues yesterday. So sorry you have to wait. Dang-it! Dang-it! Did you holler? No, I bet you didn't. I bet you just said "OK, I'll wait till Thusday," with a sigh.

Call the office back Woman! Jump up and down and cry and moan and etc. Don't you know that only the squeaky wheel gets the grease????

Please... He can just work you in. Your money is as good as anyone's and... AND, remind his secretary that you PAY CASH. You don't have Dental Insurance and you won't be holding him up for payment, like Insurance Companies do!!!

We have a family drug store. I know how Insurance Companies do not pay, in a timely manner. And it's the same with doc offices and dental offices. I mean it! Remind them of this, loud and clear.

    -sigh-

I nearly finished the book I think I read of, on your blog... "The Book Of Bright Ideas."

  3. A big second on Smilnsigh's suggestion, V! You need relief NOW. People in pain ought to take precedence over a regular checkup, or at least be worked in. Hey, someone ought to come up with a dental hospital or dentist in the box to take care of just such emergencies! I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten. I'll send up a little prayer for you - Vickie

  4. I saw dozens of such houses on our recent "driving tour" of the U.S. I didn't take pictures of many, though, because I figured they wouldn't show up very well. Duhhhh. Now I'm feeling pretty dumb about that. lol

I'm really feeling bad for you about that toothache. In my view, there's not much worse than a toothache or an ear ache. (Except maybe labor and possibly a kidney stone. Maybe.) Hope your dentist gets that taken care of ASAP. He must be working the same schedule as our A/C repair guy - WE STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE DOWNSTAIRS A/C FIXED AND I'M ALMOST HOMICIDAL ABOUT IT. (Gee. Didn't mean to yell like that.)

    I'll be thinking of you!

  6. I love the red roof inn. I'm very sorry you're having to deal with this. The pain is not alleviated by some of these drubs. It's crazy and hard. I'm happy you're at least able to sleep. I'd try the Advil and Tylenol that Alice mentioned. It's worth a shot. Tomorrow must seem like a long way off.

  10. Ahh sweetie, I'm sorry you're in such pain. Ibuprofin worked best for me since it helps the inflammation (something tylenol doesn't seem to do as well). That and an ice pack. And believe it or not, it seemed to help when I washed my mouth out with the minty Listerine. That part was probably all in my head! LOL! I do hope you're feeling better soon!
    Hugs to you!
