'Twas Four Years Ago

Four years ago? Really?  Yes, it is true; I began blogging four years ago on this very date. Time does sail on by doesn't it? You'll howl to see what I thought was blog-worthy on *that first post.*

I had no intention of paying homage to my blogiversary until I was contacted by the good people at *RamSign* who would love to give one of my readers a beautiful house number set. How could I say no? How timely! How wonderful!

This is what RamSign is offering: One house number sign (not name signs or address plaques). There are signs available from 1 digit and up to 5 digits and with five different styles: Metropolitan, Highlander, Arrowhead, Lighthouse or Engelhardt. Just check out a style that you would enjoy. (Don't mention a number as that will be settled when you win.)


What do you have to do to qualify? Nothing more than leave a comment here about which sign you would enjoy having. That's it. Feel free to comment about it on your blog just because you want to help me out, but it's not required. Feel free to follow me yadda...yadda...yadda, but it's not required. Let's keep it easy-peasy. Blogging as it should be.

    Congrats! Hey Vee, I was wondering, that red dresser/sideboard you have posted in yesterdays post, do you have any idea the name of the color? I have one similiar and it is country blue, I love that red though!! Blessings

    Have you found that thinking of fodder for your blog causes you to look at life differently?

    I prefer the Engelhardt style of house number, but really, they are all elegant.

    I think that I am more observant. Have always loved overhearing a conversation (not happy to confess this) and have often written snatches of them down in journals here and there because I find people and their conversations fascinating. I still find a snippet that I've written from time to time. The blog allows me to do that in one nice neat package. I also think a lot about what to share and what not to share. If it's not directly my story, I usually decide not to share. If it's overly depressing, I won't share. If it's common knowledge as in news of the day, I usually decline. (I could happily write a political blog and may one day.) If it tends to the humorous I enjoy sharing. I'm blessed to have a good sport in John who allows me to use him as a foil.

    Now tell me, since you've obviously given this some thought. Do you find that thinking of fodder for your blog causes you to look at life differently?

    Happy Blogiversary! I must have "met" you soon after you began. I think it was just before you announced your marriage that I read and then after you married the "handyman" I was totally hooked.

    Thanks for to you and RamSign for the giveaway... I think I'd have to go with Engelhardt since we are about to paint the house and we still are not set on colors... I think this would be safest. I'd love to win.. these are beautiful signs! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

    Congratulations to you on 4 years of blogging. RamSign had good timing on offering this giveaway and how nice of you to host it. I've checked out the different styles and think my preference is for the Englehardt.
    I believe you were one of the first blogs I discovered 3 years ago and I have enjoyed my visits very much since then. Always something interesting happening at your haven.

    I'm approaching four years of blogging this December, so I'm glad we "met" so long ago, Vee, and have followed each other through the years :) I remember first seeing your comments on Dee Dee's blog and I clicked through to visit you, and the rest is history! It's been fun, hasn't it? I've gotten so much more out of blogging than I ever expected.

    As I was working in my garden this morning I was actually thinking that I would like to begin a secondary blog where I would journal, like a diary. Less photos, more thoughts...but heavens, no politics..lol...that would raise my blood pressure too much! I am finding maintaining one blog hard at times, so that may have to wait till the future when life gets a little less hectic. (Does that ever happen?)

    This is s wonderful give away! I like the Highlander style numbers as I have a yellow house with white trim and they would show up the best.

    Pat, I first met you when looking for something to post about Ireland and St. Patrick's Day. I linked to you that year... 2009?...because your trip with Vinny to Ireland was just amazing to me. Now you may have continued to run into me at Dee Dee's. Gosh, I miss that gal!
