Visiting the Marsh~Mosaic Monday
It was fun to be on the road again a few days ago taking a day trip for the first time in ages. John drives; I take photos. Yes, we did stop at the frozen custard stand. If you ever make it to my corner, this is a must stop.
This is Scarborough Marsh just down the way from John's boyhood home. He has some stories about the marsh including that the TransAtlantic communications cable was buried/is buried in there. I don't imagine that it is as important today as it once was.
Just some silly photos taken while the car got a good scrub. Love the colors.
Thus ended our day...

Loved the mosaics and your lovely views. I was impressed with the car wash though. Who would have thought. Valerie
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun trip you had there, Vee. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening.
Hugs,
Sue
I love day trips, and I so want to visit your "neck of the woods" one day/some day :). When I do, right after I eat a lobster roll, I am heading over to Hodgman's for dessert. :) Great photos, it looks beautiful and pristine. xo
ReplyDeleteYour marsh looks much more open than the one that I visited yesterday :) Like those scrubbing bubbles, too, Vee!!
ReplyDeleteI love taking a drive and seeing something of nature. The marsh is beautiful! Wish someone would row me around in a boat! heehee! Enjoy your evening my friend!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos Vee!,
ReplyDeleteWonderful trip. Frozen custard...yummm.The outdoors look so fresh and clean. We can sure use that here.
Hugs Dearest,
Marie Antionette
Love the marsh, Vee. So beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this post! And the stop for frozen custard sounds like a grand idea!!! Have a wonderful week! Cathy
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful photos and mosaics Vee. I love the blues and greens. The car wash one are just plain fun and I would never have guessed what it was. Enjoy the week!
ReplyDeleteI think we've been enjoying the same road trips. You have such gorgeous photographs. Love your fun mosaics.

Frozen custard sounds so good, Vee! I love visiting marsh lands to see all the birds that usually congregate there! I've had an interesting and loooong road trip myself this week -- it will be a future MM :)
ReplyDeleteI'll take frozen custard. I can't believe you didn't take a picture of the custard and make us drool.
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is lovely!
I love to take a day trip - something new to see, time spent together - and at the end, an ice cream or a hamburger from a roadside stand - always tastes better than in a restaurant!
ReplyDelete(Vee, I pinky promise that I did not see your post before I posted my Sunday Snapshots!)
ReplyDeleteYour trip looks like lots of fun! I happen to love marshes as we passed through several on the way to my grandparents' house. When we ride past a particularly brackish marsh, the girls say "ewwww" and I say "fond memories." I'll bet John says "fond memories" too.
This looks just like the kind of day trip I would love.
ReplyDeleteAnd come to think of it, we haven't day tripped around this joint in a while.
Hmmm... inspiration...
Your John must be a patient man. Hubby will only slow down for me to get a shot not stop and get out of the car. Some get mosaics you are making these day. Love the one through the car wash.

We haven't taken a road trip in a while. Have to find time to do that. Love your mosaic....
ReplyDeleteThe marsh looks so lovely and peaceful! I love visiting places like that. Your pictures just capture it all so well! I know you really enjoyed your day. =)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
I am so glad that you are getting out now for day trips and having some photo fun! And frozen custard to fortify your travel strength is a wise choice, LOL. And silly you to take photos inside a car wash!!!
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot-of-that-going-around! He Drives She Takes Pics!!!! -gigggles-
ReplyDeleteOh wow, but that in-the-car-wash pic is a classic example of a Surprise Photo Op!!! Classic!
"These old buildings do not belong to us only, they belong to our forefathers and they will belong to our descendants unless we play them false. They are not in any sense our own property to do with as we like with them. We are only trustees for those that come after us."

Beautiful pictures Vee! Your car wash photos remind me of the time my husband took his dad,who has suffered a severe stroke, through one of these car washes. His dad got a big smile on his face and kept pointing at all the pretty colors of soap running down the windows. It was a good day. Isn't it amazing how the simplest of things can mean so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a bit of heaven from you haven this morning, I love the marsh photos, so soothing, vibrant, and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day Vee!
I love those mosaic options. I am growing weary of the limited settings on picasa.
ReplyDeleteA day for a drive is one of my favorite things too. Frozen custard sounds wonderful. I must visit.
beautiful scenery and FUN bubbles! :)
ReplyDeleteLovey mosaics!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought that was the ice cream place that you and John brought Ken and I to but looked back and saw that it was different.
I wondered what you day-trippers were up to the other day. Now I know. Enjoying frozen custard (whatever that may be)...and exploring the marshes. And washing the car when all was said and done! And a good time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteVisiting your neck of the woods is something we want to do one day. We'll be sure to stop by and go for some frozen custard. And a paddle on the marsh. What a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteLove the whimsy of the car wash mosaic. A great relief after deleting, resizing, telling my husband and son-in-law why I have to do it this way and enduring their suggestions (none of which worked and I'm back to doing it my way).
The mosiac of the marsh is beautiful and I love the green in it. And why haven't I ever thought of snapping pics inside a car wash! Cute.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
Beautiful photos - love the carwash shots -- that's thinking outside of the box for sure!!
ReplyDeleteLove your mosaics , You must have had a great day
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos you take! Looks like a great trip!
ReplyDeleteI do love trips...and pretty mosaics like you make. :)
ReplyDeleteI giggled when you mentioned custard...while we were in the mountains, fishing and sightseeing, we found a little place about 14 miles away from our cabin..in Angel Fire, that had the BEST ice cream. We had a cone every single day while on vacation. Addicting, to say the least. and US on a diet, too. :))
Looks like a great little day trip. This mosaic matches your background so nicely.
ReplyDeleteThe frozen custard sounds delish. How nice to come home in a clean car and how clever to photograph the experience.
What great photos! And look at how green it is in your "neck of the woods"! The weather forecast keeps predicting rain for us, but it skirts around us each time. I love looking at the scenery in your area.
ReplyDeleteI really dig those car wash pics. i think they are really pretty. i'm going to try that next time were are waiting in the car as it goes thru the suds. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteLovely scenes and I quite liked the scrub-a-dub-dub on your auto images...creative! Have a great week~
ReplyDeletefrozen custard - yumm and perfect summer photos..green green!
