A quick story/ies...
And since it's early morning...a shadowy story...and a story about things beyond the windowsill (ten inches of heavy snow...thank you for your sympathy.)
Another story...a red crocheted butterfly found in the depths of my mother's crochet basket. I received it as a God breeze and attached it to my wreath. My sister calls such moments "God winks." They are points in time when one feels as if there's been a connection with something beyond oneself. Since I have been considering attaching a butterfly to the wreath and had lamented not buying a gossamer one while at Michael's last weekend, to find a crocheted butterfly made by mother seems extra special and it is perfection...so much better than a gossamer one would've been.
Just dropping in a photo to show size and perspective of a vintage bookmark that I found in an old book. It says G&W Co. NYC printed in the U.S.A. on the back.
I've scanned it and you may feel free to snag it.
Have a very pleasant weekend...
Good Morning!!!
ReplyDelete.♥.
Say it! I'm so juvenile. When I realize that I got-here-first, I just have to drop a quick comment in, before thinking of anything *amazing* to say.
ReplyDelete-giggggles-
Say it!
I'm so juvenile.

OK! No more "fiddles and blather!" [Oooops, did I do that punctuation right? After asking, I've lost my sure-ness, yet again. Ahhh who cares, right?] :-)
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing, 10 inches! Oh that is very rude. Even of Mother Nature. What did you do recently, to "tick her off" so????!!!!????
Now, I can "crow" 'cause she only plunked -some- snow on me, and turned to rain and it melted. And this morning looks absolutely Spring Like!
Yeah, I have my *Rose Colored Glasses* on, and the sun is shining and I did see a frequent walker go by, in shorts!
But...
But...
I've decided that I have to decide that Spring is here! I have to! I do! For my mental health and all that jazzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Gotta' get some stuff done today!
Gotta' get out for a walk today!
Gotta' find something green, to take a photo of, today!
Gotta! It's this, or I wither up like an old prune. Dang it! I mean it! I'm so, so, so tired of feeling cold, and with a cold, and sick-of-snow-cover, and general Yuck-ness. Sick! Of! It!
-whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww- Might have worn myself out, with all that intention. :-) Hope not.
But......... The pics you show, out your windows, like from your lovely eating area, and your kitchen window, make even your *stinkin* snow, look good. Not the snow! But your house looks soooo warm and cozy and etc., that even pics-with-snow look GOOD here, Hon!
Gentle hugs...
.♥.
Oh Vee....you definitely have my sympathy. I'm NOT a winter person, even in the winter. I love spring and summer, and when I saw the snow (it does look beautiful) out your window....I felt for you.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful artwork on your wreath is perfection with the God wink or God breeze of the pretty red rose from your mother. I love your expression of 'God wink' or God breeze'....so sweet!
The blocks turned out great.... and I love the gorgeous cross.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
My mom loved butterflies, and every time I see one, I say hello to her.....
ReplyDeleteI hope that snow goes away quickly and warmer weather comes your way.
Hugs,
Penny
So special --- a "God wink" butterfly. Small connections make a big difference! Blessed be the tie that binds!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the blocks! They are pretty in white.
Short story: a beach house (rental) once greeted our family with kids building blocks on a mantle --- spelling out "welcome" and everyone's name in the group. I thought they went the extra mile and of course, you know I'd love that!
Be blessed today! Thanks for the bookmark.
I believe in those "God winks", too. What a special blessing! I truly believe that nothing happens by chance which makes the red butterfly a very precious gift.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are bringng Christ into Easter. Thank you for sharing the cross.
Everything at your home is always so pristine. I try to keep the rest of our home looking nice, but the office is forever messy. I come in here to play. Please tell me that you have a room like that.
Oh no more snow! Maybe you should come and pay me a visit, it is nice and sunny here today.
ReplyDeleteI love the butterfly, such a special touch to your wreath. I am glad God's breeze blew your way today.
Have a wonderful Saturday!
Diane, several. ☺
ReplyDeleteOh snow and we are going to be in the 80's today. I call them "Bravo,Bravo God" moments...I applaud Him for your butterfly.
ReplyDeleteThe cross...yes the cross! The wonder of the cross.
Thanks for prayers on my pastor, it has been over a year, he is doing well and traveling the world speaking. The word in the video just spurred me on to increase my prayer life.
Ten inches!?! Oh my, that is the ultimate April Fool's Day joke. I hope it doesn't stick around too long.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, you are doing marvelous things over there to help spring along. The red butterfly is the crowning touch on your wreath and the story to go along with it is beautiful. Love the titles you and your sister have given to moments like those.
The welcome blocks turned out so pretty and elegant looking.
Thanks for sharing your bookmark. Now I just need to find a color printer.
Stay warm.
What an adorable butterfly...and a sweet memory too!
ReplyDeleteI adore your little girl in the windowsill! :)
Blessings!
~Nadine
Wonderful story and butterfly.
ReplyDeleteTen inches of snow??!!! Oh my.
How sweet!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cathie
Yes, I'm sending my snow sympathy as well. Lovely red butterfly and the bookmark is amazing. Yes, God's winks is a good description of that experience. You've brighten my day, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that you got 10 inches of snow!! That is just crazy. Hope it melts soon.
ReplyDeleteI like that "God Winks." : -)
I am sorry to hear you have had another 10 inches of snow! But the treasures you have found in your home are certainly signs that spring is going to be just around the corner. It has been melting here for a few days but will dip to -13C tonight - after being +14 this afternoon at 2 pm. 2 hours later it was plus 8 and snowing lightly and then it rose to plus 11 by 6 pm. I hope that your crazy weather does an about face really soon!
ReplyDeleteI love your wreath and the butterfly is such a sweet reminder of your mum. What a blessing that you found it.
ReplyDeleteNow, what can we do about this spring snow? Enough already!
xoxo

Funny, I just had, what I suppose, was a God Breeze myself the other day. I was driving in my van. Suddenly, I smelled Narcissus Flowers. (not something I've ever smelled in my "kid smelling" van before). No flowers even in bloom yet that I could blame it on.
ReplyDeleteThe smell immediately reminded me of my Grandmother, who died when I was 8. They were her favorite flower. After a moment I realized I was driving by the cemetery where she is buried.
I hadn't thought of her in awhile and I kind of felt like it was her saying Hi. :)
Yuck to the snow. I DO feel sorry for you because I know how it feels to have long winters and be waiting for Spring....
((Hugs))
Laura
You are certainly having nasty weather.
ReplyDeleteMid 70's here today and yes it surprised us too.
