Blooming in July

When the ditch lilies thinned, I brought the hanging pot of calibrachoa to the front garden. It provides some color in the sea of green and is appropriately named "Confetti."

Join Mary at Little Red House for more mosaics. And, if you've never played along or made a mosaic, feel free to ask, there are many wonderful programs. This week, I used two: Photoscape and PicMonkey.

A wonderful week to you...

  1. Is it wrong for me to covet your beautiful flowers when it's all I can do to keep the grass alive? ;-)

  5. Lovely blooms! Almost everything died here this summer because of the heat. Constant watering didn't help.

  32. Hi Vee,

Wow, this is a great mosaic!! I really love the Calibrachoa, or "Confetti" flowers; they're sooo pretty. I don't know if I've ever seen those before.

When you say "ditch lilies", do you mean the common orange daylilies? I think that's so cute; my MIL calls them railroad lilies because you often see them growing alongside railroad tracks (and ditches) here in NC. Some people think they're a nuisance, but I love them.

Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

  36. Beautiful blooms!
I've tried to get better at mosaics. I'm still sort of duncey about them. I don't know why, but I regularly cut the very part I wanted to highlight right out of the picture.

  37. Gorgeous blooms! My garden needs weeding so badly but it's been so hot and dry it's taken all my spare time to keep it watered so the weeds are winning. No blooms on my morning glory yet.

I saw your post about the Olympics. My favorite is the womens' (I should say girls') gymnastics.

  38. totally charming the way you did the mosaic. And the flowers are gorgeous, Getting too hot/dry here for many flowers looking their best,
