♫ Why Worry ♫

Sung by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris

Here we find ourselves four years later. We, John and I, chatted a bit about these past four years and I asked him if they had been the four roughest years of his life. He grinned without responding. Right. Just as I suspected.

~the Grin~

Personally, I don't know how I would have made it through the past four years without him. God sent him just when I needed someone most, just when my grandmother and mother needed someone most. God was so good to us in sending a kind man like John. My grandmother once said to his sisters, whom she had just met, "John is such a kind man." They responded in unison, "We know!"

Soon after my mother died, I was talking with a family friend who told me that my mother had shared this with her: I can leave this world in peace knowing that my girls are happy.

So, in the words of the song,

...There should be laughter after pain

There should be sunshine after rain

These things have always been the same

So why worry now

Why worry now

  18. Vee,
Four years! Isn't it amazing to look back and see what a different person you were before John? I know I am amazed when I think of myself before Mister.
I also hope that having found him later in life, that I appreciate him more, and am a better wife than I was previously.
    Happy, Happy Anniversary.

  26. Where did those four years go? It seems just yesterday...that you were cooking up treats for your carpenter. And before we knew it...you ran off and married him. I'm so happy for you...for him...for you both. Wishing you both much happiness in the journey ahead!

  36. Having met John, I would agree. You are blessed with a very caring and gifted man. The Lord most certainly knows exactly what we need! Excellent words to your song. Reminds me of the song Larnelle Haris sings, "So YOU Were In It After All." (You were with me when the sun was shining...and you were still beside me when it rained!) I'm so thankful that we don't trod these paths alone!
    Blessings to you two!

  38. Hi Vee!

What a touching post and a beautiful song! John does seem like a wonderful man - but the two of you is what makes it a wonderful union. God is so aware of us, He knows us so well, knows what our needs are . . . and sometimes . . . He sends us angels . . . like John.

    Gentle Hugs,
    Barb

How many of us had our worlds turned upside down four years ago...we sure did, and yet, God has provided and has been there...no need to worry.

I find myself coming alive again...He is faithful.

Thanks for sharing his faithfulness to you!

  42. And how lovely you all realize what a kind man is John! So many neglect to tell loved ones how wonderful they are and then...one day, it's too late.
