Happy Valentine's Day
What a bright and beautiful day it is after the storm! Judy, I was terribly busy this morning hanging hearts off my neighbor's oak tree, but anything for you!
Last September 13, I featured a singer from Austin, Texas named Robert Kelley who just so happens to be my dear friend Juanita's husband. He is the leader of a band called Blue Mist. Rob wrote his wife, my friend, a love song called *Valentine Lady* and I hope that you might have a listen. It's a great song! (Happy Valentine's Day, Juanita!)
Yesterday, I baked Gooey Bars. You can find the recipe right here at Quill Cottage where Miss Sandy typed up all the recipes for us. It's very easy to make and such a tasty treat. I may have to bake more since my heart cookie cutter is so large.
The Polaner fruit is for making homemade Pop Tarts. I really need to stay away from Chocolatechic. Her boy made them on February 11 and I've been thinking about them ever since.
I do wish all you couples out there a wonderful Valentine's Day. May you all create a special day every day for those you love. This fun tutorial on relationships called *Fairy Tales Can Come True* has been saved in my favorites for months waiting for this day. It's filled with fun tips and fun graphics; my favorite is this:
Learn to soothe frayed nerves
When your partner is having trouble coping
—either with the world or with you—
don't shout, don't pout, don't run away.
Just turn to your mate and lovingly say...
"Honey, what do you need from me...
right now?"
Enjoy the day!

Happy day to you too Vee.
ReplyDelete..Most of mine will be busy running errands, vacuuming dust buffaloes..then a bit of baking as the freezer is empty of sweet things for lunches...no biscotti left for my tea dippers...
I did want to bake some heart shaped cookies too...but doubt I will get to that... not a biggy... we can celebrate "heart" day anytime we want to.......
A very Happy Valentine's Day to you too dear Vee! How did the Gooey Bars Taste? I have not had time to try any of the recipes but plan to this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment this morning, I really needed a pick me up, I'm a little off kilter today healthwise so it was a nice lift.
Have a blessed day!
I love it...red on white is lovely! Is this a 'hearty' red oak tree?
ReplyDeleteHave yourself a wonderful day...I shall check all your links to see what you have planned for us today!

Happy Valentine's Day, Vee! And I have out of control hips just reading those recipe links. One day of school and holidays will be here. Can you tell I am bouncing up and down as I speak????
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful snow you have and the tart. I almost felt sorry for you not having Krispy Kreme, Ikea and Starbucks in your Mall but maybe not!
ReplyDeleteI would love to romp in that snow, We have just had the warmest February day ever. 65 degrees. Turning cold tonigh though.
I'm not sure I'd want to hear how my husband would answer that question in the middle of an argument! Today he might have wanted me to take driving lessons as I got the car stuck in the driveway and he had to come outside and rescue me.
ReplyDeleteThose Gooey Bars look really good and using the heart cutter made them so special for today. Happy Valentine's Day to you!
