Loose Ends

In lieu of the sun, a grapefruit half, drizzled with maple syrup...

Today I'd like to tie up a few loose ends starting with this piece of news. My father arrived home this week from the nursing home where he has been recuperating for the past several weeks. There were days that I despaired that he would recover, but he is doing very well now and I wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

What else? Oh, I meant to share *THIS* with you. It's a fun Valentine graphic from Teresa McFayden's blog My Minutia. I'm using it to send some email Valentine greetings.

Lastly, are you aware that you can find FREE DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE from Google's free directory service assistance for business listings? There are zero ads to listen to and they'll even connect the call for free. Call 1-800-GOOG-411 and they will give you the number and address and also text a map to your cell phone, if your phone has that capability. Kinda cool!

I'm off to do some Valentine baking on this snowy, icy, homebound day. Then, of course, I'll be around to see what you are/were doing this wonderful Wednesday.

Edited to Add: See why I am homebound? Where's the street?

  1. Oh, my, you really did get a lot of snow. Here we're having mostly rain and ice so it is an inside day for me too.

  2. I'm so glad about your Dad, Vee! Good for him, I know it was his determination that brought him through, that and the Will of God...I love your snow fall, even if it's an annoyance to you, it's awfully pretty...

  3. Hi Vee - Have you had any breaks in the snow where you can get out to the grocery store? I hope so! seems like you've had alot of the white stuff - it was nearly 80 degrees here Saturday and Sunday, and we enjoyed getting out in the garden to start clearing. Have a Valentine's cookie for me, will ya? Vickie

  4. Came here from Sandi's great blog. Hope you get a thaw soon. We're in summer here in Australia!

  5. Vee - forgot to tell you - I am SO glad your dad is doing better. It's a scarey time when they get sick or start declining. God is good - Vickie

  6. Vee, the snow picture is a lot more beautiful than it is to live in I'm sure. I hope you have some warmer weather in your neck of the woods soon.

    That google info is interesting.

    Enjoy your Valentine baking day!!

  7. Wonderful news about your Father!!!

And my yes, you did get snow!

We got some snow, and now... after freezing rain. And warmer temps but all day rain... it's an ice covered world out there, and I dread lower temps tonight.

  8. So happy that your father is home and doing well. Your grapefruit looked like a very good antidote to the weather outside!

  9. Baking on a snowbound day sounds perfect! I left you a little surprise on todays post!

  10. Hello Ms. Vee!

Your grapefruit is bright and cheerful for a snowy day!

  11. Hi Vee! Glad to hear that your Dad is doing better! That is wonderful news. Also I love your snow...WHAT are you baking for Valentine's Day?

Thanks for the sweet words on my blog too...I enjoy you so much!

  12. I am so glad to hear your dad is on the mend! I will continue to pray for him (and you too) as he recovers.

Your street looks lovely...all blanketed in snow. I'm expecting you to paint a few red hearts in that picture for tomorrow though!

And thanks for pointing out all the neat places in cyberspace for us to visit...it helps to have directions!

  13. Vee, check my blog - I left something for you... Vickie
