Little Ideas

Made with My Cool Signs.Net

In a file brilliantly labeled "Ideas," I found a few things gathered that I'd like to share such as this sweet idea for a bit of lace. (Sadly, my file does not say where I have gleaned these photos...much searching has not worked. If anyone knows, I'd welcome knowing. (ETA: And I'm using them anyway. Bite me.)

These shelf brackets are neat if I can get past The Carpenter's misgivings.

Manuela of The Pleasures of Homemaking has a whole bunch of ideas in yesterday's post. I'm working on one this morning and I promise to tack it on to the end of this post before day's end. She's participating in a blog party, but I'm just being a slacker. I adore before and after pictures, but don't have anything exciting to share...yet. ;>

ETA: I'll probably revisit this project in the days to come...
You can see that my recipe notebook was simply lovely; I mean, it even included an obituary. Not exactly the best item for decorating a cookbook! LOL!

Edited to Add Again: Couldn't take that last cover so did something else again. I like it better, but perhaps it'll be revisited or perhaps I'll just accept my imperfection and move on...

  2. I adore the lace in the drawer. What a beautiful and feminine idea. The shelf brackets would be great in my son's room:-)

    Thanks for the inspiration.

  3. I've seen that lace idea somewhere too - isn't it the sweetest? Love the brackets - how could the carpenter not be all over that?

  5. Cool ideas, indeed! I went over to the 'cool signs' web page and made you comment for you...but have no idea how to paste it into the comment box.

I'm just wondering if that carpenter of yours is at your beck and call for carrying out all your little ideas. He has quite an enviable life...with you and all your little ideas! I'll be back to see how your morning project turned out.

  6. Love the lace idea and the brackets are very clever. Thanks for sharing. I got a bit of a project done yesterday myself. I cleared off two whole shelves in my studio space and made a canvas basket liner for a wire basket I wanted to use to hold scrap fabrics. I think we are all in the mood for a little stylish order here in blog land as there seems to be a great deal of posting on organizing. Great success with your project and have a great weekend!

  7. Really, Vee, who needs Country Home, when I have the blogging world to inspire me? It may not have the same familiar feel of a piece of paper, but I can be true friends with those I admire. I love the lace idea. I bought a sweet old wooden case last summer. I've been thinking about "re-doing" and I think your idea would fit perfectly into my plans. My magazine woes are shortlived.....

  11. Your recipe binder came out great! You can always change it if you think of something else later but it's so much prettier than plain white! Good job!

I may or may not achieve them but they give me something worthwhile to work towards. 19. Vee - I love those ideas! I especially love the drawer with lace, and also the shelf. Wow!

I have seen the drawer photo before and think it might be from Real Simple. Or maybe it was Martha. I will look at my files and let you know if I find anything.

  21. Love that recipe book. I made some a couple of Christmases ago for some family members...and didn't make one for myself! Sure wish I would have now. Guess I'll add that to my project list, eh?

  22. Those shelf brackets are GREAT! I will show that picture to Papa to see how it can be done. We've got enough branches and limbs from the ice storm late last year. And I sure could use more shelves.
