A Haven for Vee

Waiting

I am beginning this entry on Tuesday evening at 6:16. Having just listened to tomorrow's weather report, I now know that there'll be up to three inches of snow on the ground by morning. On April 28? Good heavens! It has made me go back in bloggy time to that terrible winter and spring when the snow hung on forever. That was the year that I held a contest on when the last vestiges of snow would be gone. Barbara won that giveaway. She said that she just had a feeling that she would. Isn't that fun? In case you're interested in that date, it was April 22, 2008. This year, even with a mild winter and an early spring, it'll be a later snowfall. Nuts!

So there's been snow on the forsythia and now there'll be snow on the azaleas. (This will be something I've never before seen so if it does happen, I'll be documenting with another photo.) Good thing that I took lots of photos of happy azaleas yesterday.

Tonight I will watch LOST. I'll visit Chris and see if she has anything to say about it. I need to start a forum or something for fans of LOST. No, no, I don't. Such things already exist, but if anyone would like to chat about it, do feel free. Nope, it was a rerun. Ugh. But it did force me to find the final schedule right *here,* which explains what will be showing through May 23 the finalé. Only LOST fans need check. :D Just don't anyone be looking for me on May 23. No one. Anywhere. I'll be in a LOST coma.

Let's see, what else, Dear Ones. Oh! I do want to thank those who said that they'd read a book I wrote. That's just so sweet. I don't imagine that you'd be too terribly impressed however. If you've been reading this blog for any time at all, you know the gist of it for, like most first novels, it is autobiographical in nature. Oh, yes, and I'll ponder whether to share a bit from what John read. I did share some *here* from another story I was working on back in 2007. A few of my current readers commented at that time. Would you believe that I have since lost those chapters? You would? Go figure! You'll laugh to see how I ended that post. The word becalmed comes to mind. < insert wry grin >

I'm having a waiting kind of Wednesday, waiting for word, waiting for the phone to ring, waiting... (My mother is having more surgery today.)

  1. Waiting for snow and word about your mother....what a day!

Thanks for the update on LOST. Warren and I have been watching it on the computer and would have been sorely disappointed to find a rerun...given how the last episode ended.

Praying that all goes well today.

We're expecting 3 inches of snow either today or tomorrow and it was 75 degrees yesterday!

  4. Snow, LOST, a book, and surgery. OK, you were jumping all over the place with this post, LOL!

I hope that you didn't have to find the snow shovel this morning. I never did get into the LOST show. Watched two episodes and it never grabbed me. And based on your writings, I would LOVE to read your book! Keep at it and get it published, OK? And finally... I'll be praying for your mom's surgery and recovery.

  5. Good Morning Vee,
I will be remembering your Mother and you in prayer today. May the Lord give you His strength.

When I saw the weather report this morning I thought of my blogging friends who live in your area who were getting snow today, and know how disappointed everyone must be. It seems winter just won't let go, or spring can't make up its mind if it wants to stay or not. It is sunny here today but cold,

I went back and read you 2007 post, and enjoyed it so much, you are so gifted in putting your thoughts together in writing. I vote for you to finish this book, and what better time than now.

I am also enjoying your music.
    Thinking of you today.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  7. Snow! I'm at a loss for words. Had it in upper (my state) last night. Not here though.

Even saw the nearly Full Moon last night.

As to late snow, today IS the FULL Moon you know.

Went back an revisited "old post." Good grief! I was even stealing your posting ideas, back then! Guess I really don't change, do I? ,-)

    Gentle hugs...

  8. i am praying for your mother's swift
    recovery and your 'becalmnment'.

does it seem to you that people who
do a fine job of keeping track of other
people, have a hard time doing that
    with things (stories, etc.?)

  9. I'm thinking of you and your mother today and pray that all will go well with her surgery.
I hope the snow decided not to visit you after all. I would hate to think of those lovely azaleas getting nipped.

  11. Keeping you company in the snow from Utah's storm. Yesterday the winds came and we had pink and white petals spinning up in the air like fairy tornados. I watched the rain turn to snow from my bed...glad I happen to like snow a lot!

  12. When I looked at the weather station this morning, Vee, you were the first person I thought of! Snow on your azaleas! Wow, who'd have thunk!

Yes, please finish your book. I went back and read the beginning and I'd love see where those rock walls lead a young girl to (bad grammar I know)!

I'm not a LOST fan, but I have several friends who are. I didn't get in on it at the beginning so...

Sending up a prayer for your mom right now. Keep us posted...

  19. I love the bit about the lost comma. Chris and I had a giggle about that. She and Dan were all set up to watch the program together when to their dismay they realized it was a rerun.

I heard the catch up version tonight at dinner :)

    Unbelievable about the snow.

Praying for you, your mom and all the family!
