Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees. ~Faith Baldwin
Enjoy the photos with very little commentary from me...
Great row of brightly colored Adirondack chairs, too...
I like it better cropped.
Love all these one-room schoolhouses turned into homes. This one is for sale. Note the double doors on the front: one for girls and one for boys.
Yes, Sunday's scripture picture! Good eye!
Even a glance down the power line becomes special with its open window to autumn colors.
Yes! My header picture. Good eye!
And right back home again...our haven is just down the road, down another wee street, and there you are. So, if you ever see this tree, stop in!
A Happy Thanksgiving to my neighbors to the North and a Happy Columbus Day to my fellow Americans. ☺
Beautiful! I really do miss the beautiful colors in the change of the seasons. I'll just have to put up with being surrounded by GREEN! :D :D
ReplyDeleteOh my, thanks for reminding me of our holiday today! It used to be such a big deal when we were in school. I enjoyed taking the ride with you...wonderful color. We probably have another month to see it so fully here. At least it has gotten cooler and time to switch out the winter/summer clothes. You and I take the same kind of "from the car" photos! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe have some trees changing here too! After living here for 18 years I am still in awe of the beauty I see all around me!
Deanna
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteHow fun to ride through the beautiful countryside with you! Your first picture is my favorite kind of autumn tree -- red, yellow, and orange leaves, with a little green still visible. Beautiful! I love the big white house with the double porch and the little red school house. You're lucky to live in such a picturesque region.
Have a wonderful day!

So pretty. I would miss the seasons so much if we were ever to move to a place that stayed more constant. As Deanna said, we are beginning to see some color now. Love it.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I want to visit Maine.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Vee!
Happy Columbus Day Vee! These photos really show the brilliant colours of your fall there. I enjoyed the trip home from the fair. Love your header photo too. We had a drive in the country yesterday to Hartland and back and even a stop in Houlton to shop. It was a beautiful day but the colours weren't as brilliant as where you are.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun! Can "we" go on another ride this week? =D
ReplyDeleteI love the glimpses of your lovely state...and of your Haven. I'll be looking for that tree if we ever make it up your way...
It is sooooo beautiful where you live Vee! I love the colors, the older homes, the pretty lake....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
Lovely drive with great fall colors! Columbus Day! How did that sneak up on me. The 12th is pretty much embedded in my head for that day...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
You took some wonderful photos! It looks like it will be a good year for color! We are here in the mountains but the clouds...and mist...has been a shroud over the mountains and everything else! We won't know what color is around us until it lifts! By then, maybe I'll have some energy, too! heehee! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, beautiful ride you had! And thank you for taking us on it, with you.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly do have lovely foliage change, in your neck of the woods.
We need another sunny day, to go out and find our own pretty Autumn ride.
Lovely Header!!!

I loved the visual tour! Oh, how I miss seeing Maine! I am reminded of "big house-little house-back house-barn" when I saw your photo of the white house in the middle of your post. The charming architecture is so characteristic of your region. Enjoy those glorious colors! The leaf peeper report down here says we have another wee in the higher elevations and two weeks in the lower ones.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful countryside! My fav is the one of the trees lined along the water, love the flaming red against the blue water. We are just getting a small tint of turning leaves here, nothing showy yet. I hope you enjoy a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...
ReplyDeleteYour colors are fabulous - and even more so with a sunny blue-bird day! Save some of those leaves for me!
I love how your little towns up there don't have the formal curb/gutter system we have down here. Is it like that everywhere in the north? It's so picturesque without them. In towns here in the south, everything has to be curb/gutter. Out in the country, no. It's ever so much nicer without!
Beautiful photos, great foliage, and I also like the power line in the background :) xo
ReplyDeleteI'm back again. :-)
ReplyDeleteDifferent Background here, I think. Pretty shades of brown. Very seasonal, without being toooo bright.
I appreciate how difficult it is, to find that delightful middle ground, in Backgrounds.

Simply gorgeous! What a beautiful place to live. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteAww, what a beautiful relaxing drive! Thanks for taking me along! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pretty photos with us...love all the fall colors. You certainly live in a beautiful part of the country!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

stunning... stunning... stunning!!!!!
ReplyDeletecindie
SO jealous! Our color is lacking this year, probably because we've been so dry:-( Loved seeing your photos and remembering my time in New England, XOXO
ReplyDeleteHip Hip Hooray for a trip to New England in the fall without even leaving my seat :D. I don't think there's a lovelier place to be at this time of year. The fall colors combined with the old schoolhouses turned into homes ... love it all.
ReplyDeleteLovely fall colors. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty, truly beautiful...and too funny on the two doors at the school, oh my haven't times changed
ReplyDeleteI love all your autumn color, especially those ornage/red sugar oaks!
ReplyDeleteI heard on the radio this morning that many states do not celebrate Columbus Day today for many reasons, however there is still a parade in NYC for him!
I celebrate Christopher Columbus. I think if more people would study his life, they might as well.
ReplyDeleteI've love seeing your beautiful fall photos today! Such gorgeous colors.
ReplyDeleteNothing is more beautiful than the changing colors of fall in New England. Trust me, in Texas, the leaves are yellow one day and GONE the next! I so enjoyed your pictures, I know you must be loving it!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee
ReplyDeleteWish that tree was right down the street - I'd be over for a visit!
Leann
Beautiful photos, looks like fall has arrived in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of Autumn colours, your area is so pretty this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteMerle........
Love all your fall pictures! I really miss the trees -- almost all of my adult life I've lived too far south to really experience fall. I miss the color of the sky, the smells, the feel of the crisp air:) Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are just stunning Vee. We had such warm weather here up in Canada today ...so odd...but lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing those photos. I absolutely want to visit and find that tree someday.
Breathtakingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHere in West Texas, we, first of all, don't have that many trees...and never this kind of color change.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos, Vee...:))
SO pretty!! LOVE LOVE LOVE that top picture of the tree, the colors are so vibrant.
ReplyDeleteWell, that was just gorgeous! I once visited an old school house turned into a home, and I have never forgotten how enchanted I was with it.
ReplyDeleteWe were traveling yesterday and I didn't get to stop by. So glad to have the time this morning. Such beautiful photos. All of that rain truly helps with autumn colors.
ReplyDeleteI loved taking a fall drive with you. And yes...I f I ever see that tree, I will surely stop in!
ReplyDeleteI love the school house turned into a home and would love to live there!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty fall colors. : )
Vee, you live in such a beautiful part of our country. I love the pictures of the older homes and all of the lovely color of fall. To live in a one room schoolhouse would be so cool!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed my visit. Feels like I am there.
