Christmas Lights and The Maestro

We've been out for the last two nights. Last night was shopping; the night before was for enjoying Christmas lights. We gathered up my mother and grandmother and off we set. Two and a half hours later, filled with Tim Horton's English Toffee Cappuccinos and Canadian Maple donuts, we were home again.

In our corner, I'd say that only one in ten homes has any lights on display. One can not complain about this when one has no lights on her own home. The photo above is the best of the lot.

My little grand was busy yesterday so that means that I was busy as well. Much too busy to follow him about with a camera. However, once he and his constant companion Ted E. Bear turned their attention to piano playing, I was able to capture these shots. You can see why we think he's going to be a natural even if he's not yet two. ;>

A wicked good Thursday to you all!

  2. I hate to admit it, but we did NOT decorate outside this year. I did put up my vintage santa flag with the woodland creatures sitting at his feet..that was it. We usually cover our bushes, and put pine and velvet bows down the railing as well. Last year the lights kept going out because we had so much ice and snow..that hubby spent hours climbing behind bushes..that and the fact electricity has gone up so much we decided not to decorate outside this year...thats ok..my neighbor across the street decorated enough for all of us...it shines in my window all night like a landing strip

  6. I love Canadian maple anything! Ted E Bear! LOL! You crack me up Vee :D. I haven't been out to see any lights other than my neighbors which are bright enough to light up the whole city :). I wonder if people are cutting back this year due to the economy...hmmm, I need to get out this weekend! A wicked day to you too!

    Christmas hugs,
    Kathi :)

  7. He is so cute! I love the stuck out tongue that shows utter concentration. We don't have lights outside either, we live so far out no one would see them and I prefer to spend chilly evenings inside by firelight rather than outside gazing at my house! I do hang green garland with bright red bows though, I like the cheery greeting when I drive up. I hope you have a great day!

  8. I love it! His hands are a blurr...a maestro for sure.

Glad you took time for a 'lights tour'...we need to do that one of these days. Oh yes...and a stop at Tim Horton's would really hit the spot. That makes it an all-Canadian outing!

  12. One of my favourite things to do in the days leading up to Christmas is to drive around to look at the lights. A stop at Tim Horton's sounds like a perfect prelude to that.
