Boleros~Mosaic Monday
After so many days of rain, I was delighted to get out into the garden where I found the Bolero Lilies blooming. While they are blooming, it's all about them. Vivid, large, and healthy, they do very well in all the damp and chill and seem impervious to slugs. Wish that I could say that about the rest of the garden as I have been busy rounding up all manner of icky creatures and dispatching them to the great beyond.
The background used is a vintage wallpaper and I failed to mark the source. If you know...

I love the bright coral color of your Boleros Lillies, Vee! All your flowers appear to be doing well in spite of your cool rainy weather.
ReplyDeleteThe color of your lilies is so striking. The Wayside catalog arrived yesterday and I've been making a list of lily possibles for Musashi's Garden. It's always good to dream!!! Lovely mosaic of the lovely blooms. Have a delightful week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic. I love the lilies. I haven't seen slugs yet, but then again, I haven't really been looking. I'll be weeding tomorrow because all the rain sure makes the weeds grow. Pamela

Glad that they held the sale for John. Love how you say "top of the hour." Never heard that before. Sad to report that our flowers are fairing well -but yours look fab!

Beautiful mosaic. The plants look great. V
ReplyDeleteLove your lilies - beautiful! I just remembered the little umbrellas for plants I got in Switzerland last year - I must hunt for them and put them over the petunias when it rains...And do not mention slugs. I have also employed all manners of means to get rid of them. Loathe them.
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty, pretty...our heat is doing or flowers in already...enjoy, and your pictures are great
ReplyDeleteLinds~
ReplyDeleteI have looked all over for those pretty little umbrellas. John has fashioned a plank cover for the wave petunias else they'd be nothing but mush.
Sorry that you're also dealing with the dreaded slug. Ugh.
Yes!!!
ReplyDeleteSun!!!
:-)
Why not take credit for it showing itself finally, Dear Vee?
Because you switched to a sunny Background?
Why not?
I *declare* the sun is shining because of Vee's Sunny Background!
~♥~
Ooh, they are lovely! And everything else looks so happy and healthy!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Your plants are all so pretty and I like the containers you have put them in.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I do the same things with the slugs and snails that try to inhabit the foliage that brings me such joy. Nothing like getting slimmed first thing in the morning!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look wonderful, Vee! I so love your Lilys.
Have a lovely, lovely day!
xxoo
Gorgeous flowers and color in your yard! I know you are enjoying it very much.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Monday dear Vee!

ReplyDeleteWhen we make cornbread here, if grands are around, I make the kind with NO sugar AND a pan of sugared...they love the sweet best and...I AIM TO PLEASE. :))
It looks like your plants are thriving in the rain. Such bright colors shine through the grey clouds. It's a very good thing.
ReplyDeleteGreat colour...your thriving lilies! The lime coloured potato vine doesn't seem to be suffering...they don't like the cold and damp.
ReplyDeleteI'm home...as of Saturday night. It was a quick trip to Idaho and back!
Very vibrant lily! I'm still waiting to see if mine will break out of the buds. Lovely mosaic...
ReplyDeleteI like dispatch so much better than the word I use - squish. I must remember "dispatch".
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous and that bolero lily is going on my list of future garden flowers.

ReplyDeleteHi Vee, I wanted to stop by for a visit today as I have been on an unannounced leave from blogland for two weeks. One I didn't know I was taking.
ReplyDeleteI have just spent some very quality time catching up on what you have been doing and enjoyed savoring your posts of your days. The time spent with your family was so precious I know, and the photos showed it too. loved the post of the video of John at work, and yes it is a guy thing of being right 97.7% of the time. ~smile~
Your photos of your flowers are beautiful, we have been having to fight drought and extreme heat with our garden and flowers. I would so love to send some of this heat up your way.
Glancing over John"s newly acquired books looks very interesting, I really like John Stossel and maybe I could get a book review.
So glad to visit, enjoy your evening.
sorry for the long comment, I guess that is what happens when you go on vacation.
Hugs,
Sue
I'm new to your blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and family!
I'll be back!
Just beautiful, you certainly have a green thumb, Vee. The rain really brought out the buds and colors.
ReplyDeleteYour flower mosaic is so pretty, Vee. And so is your new blog look!
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty, Vee! They are show-stoppers for sure!
ReplyDeleteCan I "borrow" some of those beauties for my empty garden? Grandma Evelyn is the flower person & she's in Las Vegas for another month..so we're looking pretty darned pathetic around here..
ReplyDeleteYour blooms are colourful and healthy looking.
