Sometimes life's events are juxtaposed with each other in such bizarre ways. Such was my day as this morning I watched my mother's gravestone be set and this afternoon watched my grandson graduate from Pre-Kindergarten. I'm saving the graduation story for tomorrow. What's not to love about a class of four and five year olds. They're so cute!
You may remember our desire to honor my mother's love of
the cottage and
the lake. At that time, I shared
*this photo.* (I'd repost it, but my Lacie exterior hard drive is on the fritz. Computer troubles...ackkk.)
This is the stone in Canadian pink with the scene etched in it. I like it a lot.
The monument guys came through. There's a lot to do in this line of work. I was properly impressed.
Guess that's it for today. I'm so behind with my list. It just keeps telling me what to do and I keep doing something else. Hope that it comes out even in the end.
Lovely, my Dear. You should be very happy with it.

This was a biggie on that list...so precious. An honor for a special woman. Tearing up now...so off I go.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out really nice!
ReplyDeleteYour blog look is nice and summery looking.
Thanks for those kind words on the comment you left. I'm sure I won't be taking a very long break.
Wow, that's a great replica of the photo! A very special headstone for your mother.
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful, Vee.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read about the graduation!
Beautiful Vee, You did well. It seems you are pleased too.
ReplyDeleteI am sure having both events on the same day, has special meaning to you also.
I am confident you will get your list completed, and be amazed at how you did it.
Hugs,
Sue
In the last week we have been looking for my husband's great grandmother's grave. Finally, located it and it doesn't have a stone or marker indicating she is buried there. We are on the hunt for a grave stone for her. I like the one you chose for your mother.
ReplyDeleteYour Mom's headstone is a beautiful tribute to her life, Vee.
ReplyDeleteMay The Lord rest her soul and may perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.
Lists are just possibilities of things to be done...if you find something better to do, you should do it!
ReplyDeleteI think your mom would be pleased.
It is beautiful and I think you chose your tasks for the day very well.
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteThe headstone being placed is a biggie on your list.
It is lovely.
Perfect!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that it was done on time!

Hello dear friend!!! What a beautiful headstone ~ they did an absolutely wonderful job Vee! Seems that all days are like that to me ~ filled with things I want to accomplish but I seem to fail, women are like that, don't you think? We judge ourselves in the evening thinking, what did I get finished today? Ughhh! To live life happily and thankfully, to be kind to those we love, to make them happy is the best, whatever else gets done is gravy!!
ReplyDeletehugs and love,
Dawn
What a lovely headstone, it looks just like the picture. I can see from the picture why your mother loved the lake. Don't worry about the list, no one knows but you, we certainly won't tell.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stone Vee. It is a difficult thing but a place to visit and remember.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom is Marilyn too!!

The stone is beautiful, Vee. Love the scene on it. Looking forward to reading about the little ones graduation.
ReplyDeleteVee,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful stone from a beautiful picture. I look at something similar and there is peace in that view.
Slowly but surely we are getting settled. So much to do and I would like to sit on the glider on the porch and read or knit!
Carol
Very lovely stone for your dear Mother.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful and so honoring to your mother
ReplyDeleteYea, so happy for you that the monument came through on the time schedule.
ReplyDeleteThe color of the stone and the engraving is so beautiful!
It is just beautiful, Vee.
ReplyDeleteDear Vee, How did I not know??? God rest her soul. The stone is beautiful. (Your mom and my mom were born the same year.)
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely stone and the etching is beautiful. I know that she would approve and love the thought that you've remembered both the cottage on the lake and her favorite Bible verse...a labor of love and somehow you must feel her approval.
ReplyDeleteThe stone is beautifully done, Vee. The etching of the lake turned out well, and I, too, love that particular Psalm. I hope that setting this stone brings you comfort. One big thing off the list!
