A Haven for Vee

Setting the Stone

Sometimes life's events are juxtaposed with each other in such bizarre ways. Such was my day as this morning I watched my mother's gravestone be set and this afternoon watched my grandson graduate from Pre-Kindergarten. I'm saving the graduation story for tomorrow. What's not to love about a class of four and five year olds. They're so cute!

You may remember our desire to honor my mother's love of the cottage and the lake. At that time, I shared *this photo.* (I'd repost it, but my Lacie exterior hard drive is on the fritz. Computer troubles...ackkk.)

This is the stone in Canadian pink with the scene etched in it. I like it a lot.

The monument guys came through. There's a lot to do in this line of work. I was properly impressed.

Guess that's it for today. I'm so behind with my list. It just keeps telling me what to do and I keep doing something else. Hope that it comes out even in the end.

  8. Beautiful Vee, You did well. It seems you are pleased too.
I am sure having both events on the same day, has special meaning to you also.

I am confident you will get your list completed, and be amazed at how you did it.

  9. In the last week we have been looking for my husband's great grandmother's grave. Finally, located it and it doesn't have a stone or marker indicating she is buried there. We are on the hunt for a grave stone for her. I like the one you chose for your mother.

  15. Hello dear friend!!! What a beautiful headstone ~ they did an absolutely wonderful job Vee! Seems that all days are like that to me ~ filled with things I want to accomplish but I seem to fail, women are like that, don't you think? We judge ourselves in the evening thinking, what did I get finished today? Ughhh! To live life happily and thankfully, to be kind to those we love, to make them happy is the best, whatever else gets done is gravy!!
    hugs and love,

  16. What a lovely headstone, it looks just like the picture. I can see from the picture why your mother loved the lake. Don't worry about the list, no one knows but you, we certainly won't tell.

  19. Vee,

What a beautiful stone from a beautiful picture. I look at something similar and there is peace in that view.

Slowly but surely we are getting settled. So much to do and I would like to sit on the glider on the porch and read or knit!

  24. It is a lovely stone and the etching is beautiful. I know that she would approve and love the thought that you've remembered both the cottage on the lake and her favorite Bible verse...a labor of love and somehow you must feel her approval.

  25. The stone is beautifully done, Vee. The etching of the lake turned out well, and I, too, love that particular Psalm. I hope that setting this stone brings you comfort. One big thing off the list!
