Hanging out, waiting for cookies, playing some old-fashioned board games and some new-fashioned i-pod games, just enjoying the day...
As you can see, someone is really going to have to get back on top of the ladder...

I loved board games as a kid.....and cookies, too! Looks like a delightful afternoon in your home.
ReplyDeleteHubby is improving and you were right; I am posting again after only a short break.
Speaking of ladders, I've been on one cleaning cobwebs off of light fixtures this weekend!
Have a good evening, Vee.
Board games were fun growing up and I keep a stash of them for the young and old grands. Of course they have introduced grandma to Angry Birds too.

It looks so warm and cozy in your house! I can almost smell those cookies baking!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
That looks like a Norman Rockwell Christmas. Old fashioned and perfect!
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOVE family game day - we do game night - but haven't in way too long (discounting Thanksgiving when the cook and cleaner can't really stop to play much!)
ReplyDeleteYou sure have a sweet family, Vee!
Ugh. I have one for ya: talk about having to get the ladder back out and "fix," I heard all sorts of commotion to find my husband rewiring the lights on the top part of the tree that went out.
I am so blessed. He is so good to me- I could never EVER have reached that or easily have done that like his strength and super long arms could.
Hugs and have a blessed Sunday, my friend!!
PS I agree with Penny, it DOES look like a Norman Rockwell Christmas!

Judith, if you can play Angry Birds with any semblance of patience and not become an angry bird yourself you get the award.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely hate that silly game, I am the worst and have ZERO patience to play it. Bless your heart!! ~Michele
I want to come over your house and play too. : )
ReplyDeleteIt looks so peaceful at your house...
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun ....and that the angel has settled in nicely. Your house is so cozy, it seems to glow in the winter months! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteYes, your home is so very cozy and warm. And I forgot to mention about your header, I LOVE the smoke in the shape of the Letter V from the candle! That is amazing. And that you captured it!! What a photographer. xo
ReplyDeleteBarbara! That is interesting. I have never noticed that before!!
DeleteLooks like you got a lot of your decorating done - good for you! I love board games and especially the old ones. Have yet to learn how to play I-pod ones - maybe someday when I have a grand or two they will teach me?? Christmas is such a wonderful time for games - we love to play Rook and Dominos.
ReplyDeleteI love board games. Looks like a wonderful way to spend the weekend! I like your tree. Decorating is fun. I promise myself each year to enjoy the process -- no matter how long it takes!
ReplyDeleteCookies and board games and Christmas lights. Can an afternoon get any better this time of year? I think not.
ReplyDeleteBoard games! I adore board games! Such fun it must be with those young men.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a wonderful afternoon to me.
ReplyDeleteFun day.
ReplyDeleteI am just finishing up making all the gift so yes it is time to decorate. More that just a poinsettia I think.

IT looks warm and cheery in your house playing games at your table. And your tree is so pretty. Our angel is missing after last year, I think it totally collapse and had to go away. And of course we can't find anything like the old one, though a replica of yours would do!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfectly lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Cookies and games and family togetherness...fun for all ages.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I call a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteWell, now I want to go back and start the afternoon over again. Mine wasn't nearly as fun as yours!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Margaret
Hi Vee,
ReplyDeleteOh, these are such sweet, heart-warming family scenes. Your house looks so cozy, and your tree is so pretty. I think it makes us all wish to be there. :)

Wonderful shots. Spending time with family is always nice.
ReplyDeletewhat amazing children! Quietly waiting for the cookies to finish baking!! That's some treat - playing games and eating homemade cookies!
ReplyDeleteGames, cookies, lights, and I'll bet there was Christmas music playing softly in the background. What a fun way to spend an afternoon. How is Sam doing after his surgery?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very happy and cozy day at your house, Vee! What board game was Sam playing?
ReplyDeleteWow, what a nice weekend you have had! Looks so cozy. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteHi Vee - I love these pics of the grands and John. We used to have board games with our kids and they were so fun. So much better than plopping down in front of the TV. These are great! Hope you have a great week...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely weekend. Those relaxing moments with family really are special and much to treasure. I hope your week ahead is just as lovely.
ReplyDelete=)
What fun, baking cookies and family game night. Sounds wonderful to me. Love your pretty tree and ornaments. Have a happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWill I ever figure your schedule out? Your blogging schedule, that is. Your weekend blogging schedule, that isssss...

Now this is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. Grands, games, good times and no doubt tea, milk and cookies (or lemon pies?).
ReplyDeleteLooks like our weekend with our grandsons. But without the winter and the Christmas decorations - yet - I am waiting for eldest grandson wot have his birthday on Friday, then I will decorate for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas. I am linking up to you through Mosaic Monday.
