A Haven for Vee

Graduation Day

If you are a doting grandmother and every little expression that flits across your grand's face makes you grin and you can't help thinking that he or she is top shelf, then you may be guilty of taking 100 or more photos of said grand on any given day. Oh me!

Looking slightly confused...a bit bewildered...what's it all about?

The heat truly was oppressive.

A good rule for life: When things are a little dull or a little too warm, get down on the floor and have some great conversation with a friend.

Well done!

His other grammie was so thoughtful and brought flowers for him to present to both of his teachers. He was delighted and looked a bit like Ralphie giving his teacher the fruit basket in A Christmas Story.

And I learned something new about my grandson. Many of his classmates have fascinating aspirations for adulthood. There are two who wish to become the tooth fairy, one who wishes to be a toymaker (what fun!) and good, practical Sam who wants to be a farmer. A farmer who can dance!

Have a great day!

  1. I'd be the same as you with the photo taking Vee. One cannot have too many pictures of grandchildren. We only have one 8 month old grandson but he lives 3000 miles away and we don't see him often. We are planning a trip very soon and you can be sure I'll be taking lots of pics. Sam's graduation will be one of many until he becomes a farmer. What a sweetheart. Blessings, Pamela

  2. Congratulations to the farmer to be, I am thrilled to know that there will be another great farmer out there, and by the way, number one qualification to be a farmer you must know how to dance, and your grandson has passed the first test, he is going to be a great farmer.
    Enjoy your day.
    Hugs,
    Sue

  3. We desperately need dancing farmers. The ones across the street from us are such sticks in the mud...no dancing there.

I love your love of family. He is precious.

Kids that age are the best. You never know what they are going to say next.

  11. A farmer that can dance. Precious. When our oldest son turned five we asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. His answer was, an orange picker. We don't know where that came from. That was 30 years ago.

  14. Oh I am just the same, Vee - hundreds of photos. We are still at the sports mode stage though - Missy moves at the speed of light and getting a non blurry photo is the holy grail around these parts. Your grandson is too cute for words - and I know you had the best of times cheering him on!

  15. CONGRATULATIONS to your Grand!!!

And to his Grandmomma too, for taking lovely photos. And even a video to share with we in Pretty Blog Land. :-)

They are sooooooooooo precious when little, aren't they?

It's so nice that you are a camera-toting-Grandmother, because so many of these moments will be captured, for the future. :-)

  18. I'm guilty, too!

He is adorable and I think you are perfectly justified in taking every single picture. After all, you never know when one of those snapshots will be the perfect one.

  21. Hi Vee!

Loved it, loved it, what a little doll!!

You know you have to know how to dance to be a farmer, especially "break" dancing - anyway, that's what my hubby says!

By the way, you can NEVER have too many pictures of your cute grands... ;0)

    Barb

  25. Oh, Vee, Sam is so cute! Congratulations to your little grandson dancing farmer-to--be! I loved the video :) My grandson L wants to be what he calls a "working man" -- a bulldozer operator...lol..we followed a bulldozer that was doing work by his house all day and waved to the driver.

  26. I *LOVE* kindergarten graduations. I will be going to my last one (for my own children) next week. :(
I'm going to steal the idea for flowers for the teacher. This same woman has taught all of my children kindergarten. :) Wonderful woman.

Your grandson is just the cutest thing! Great pictures.
